    Författare :Mats Eriksson; Denis Searby; Timothy Janz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Hesychius of Jerusalem; scholia; catena; Hexapla; biblical commentary; patristics; Grekiska; Greek;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation contains an edition of the scholia by Hesychius of Jerusalem (died probably after 451) on the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament (CPG 6558). Apart from a few fragments, this text has never been edited before. It consists of 2 160 mostly quite brief pieces of text interpreting various aspects of the bible text. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Direct Thrombin Inhibitors in Treatment and Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism: Dose – Concentration – Response Relationships

    Författare :Marie Cullberg; Mats O. Karlsson; Ulf G. Eriksson; Nick H.G. Holford; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmaceutical biosciences; Ximelagatran; pharmacokinetic; pharmacodynamic; activated partial thromboplastin time; utility function; dosing strategy; venous thromboembolism; NONMEM; Farmaceutisk biovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : For prevention and treatment of thrombotic diseases with an anticoagulant drug it is important that an adequate dose is given to avoid occurrence or recurrence of thrombosis, without increasing the risk of bleeding and other adverse events to unacceptable levels. The aim of this thesis was to develop mathematical models that describe the dose-concentration (pharmacokinetic) and concentration-response (pharmacodynamic) relationships of direct thrombin inhibitors, in order to estimate optimal dosages for treatment and long-term secondary prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). 3. 3. Routine procedures in the care of the full-term newborn

    Författare :Miriam Pettersson; Mats H. Eriksson; Andreas Ohlin; Fredrik Ahlsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Newborn; pain; neonatal hyperbilirubinemia; home phototherapy; neonatal hip examination; oral sweet solution; pain assessment;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four studies on routine procedures used in the care of the full-term newborn. The overall aim of the thesis was to study the effects of these routines and endeavour to find ways to improve them.Study I, an observational study, included 28 healthy newborns, assessing pain during neonatal hip examination. 4. 4. Early Palaeozoic jawed polychaetes with focus on polychaetaspids and ramphoprionids from the Silurian of Gotland, Sweden

    Författare :Mats Eriksson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fysisk geografi; Geologi; physical geography; Geology; chemistry; palaeobiogeography; palaeoecology; taxonomy; apparatus reconstructions; Silurian; Recent; Ordovician; early Palaeozoic; scolecodonts; Annelida; polychaeta;

    Sammanfattning : Jawed polychaete annelid worms were abundant and diverse in the early Palaeozoic seas and their jaws (scolecodonts) are common microfossils in sedimentary rocks of that age. Despite their abundance, relatively little work has been focused on these fossils. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Low-Energy Ion Escape from the Terrestrial Polar Regions

    Författare :Erik Engwall; Anders I. Eriksson; Mats André; Thomas Moore; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; space physics; ion outflow; polar wind; auroral upflows; atmospheric escape; magnetotail lobes; spacecraft wake; electric field measurements; Geocosmophysics and plasma physics; Geokosmofysik och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Sammanfattning : The contemporary terrestrial atmosphere loses matter at a rate of around 100,000 tons per year. A major fraction of the net mass loss is constituted by ions, mainly H+ and O+, which escape from the Earth’s ionosphere in the polar regions. LÄS MER
