21. Fragment Based Drug Discovery with Surface Plasmon Resonance Technology
Sammanfattning : Fragment based drug discovery (FBDD) has been applied to two protease drug targets, MMP-12 and HIV-1 protease. The primary screening and characterization of hit fragments were performed with surface plasmon resonance -technology. Further evaluation of the interaction was done by inhibition studies and in one case with X-ray crystallography. LÄS MER
22. The roles of the plasminogen activator and matrix metalloproteinase systems in ovulation and corpus luteum formation
Sammanfattning : Proteases of the plasminogen activator (PA) and the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) enzyme systems are expressed in the ovulatory follicle and in the developing corpus luteum (CL). However, the functional role of these extracellular degrading protease systems in the ovulatory and CL development processes remains elusive. LÄS MER
23. Plasma levels of matrix metalloproteinase‐9 in a normal population : a psychoneuroendocrinological approach
Sammanfattning : Several large‐scale epidemiological studies have demonstrated the prognostic significance of psychosocial factors and stress for coronary artery disease (CAD). Observations of sudden changes in CAD incidence have led to the proposal of mechanisms regarding atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability. LÄS MER
24. Matrix metalloproteinase-26 (MMP-26) and Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-4 (TIMP-4) in normal, hyperplastic, and malignant endometrium
Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis was to study matrix metalloproteinase-26 (MMP-26) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-4 (TIMP-4) in normal, hyperplastic, and malignant endometrium. Most importantnly, both these molecules may be ivolved in the implantation process. Trophoblast tissue from human as well as mouse embryos produces pro-MMP-9. LÄS MER
25. Recombinant amelogenin - Strategies for purification and protein processing
Sammanfattning : Amelogenin is an extracellular matrix protein involved in formation of enamel during early tooth development. By interacting with the forming enamel crystallites amelogenin affects their growth, so that highly elongated hydroxyapatite crystals are formed. LÄS MER
