1. Matrix metalloproteinases in natural killer cells. Expression of MMPs, IL-2 activation and killer cell interactions with Matrigel® and model tumours
Sammanfattning : Introduction: IL-2 activated natural killer (A-NK) cells can recognize malignant cells and exert tumouricidal activities by multiple mechanisms that require close contact with the target cells. Upon adoptive transfer, some A-NK cells accumulate in tumours by migrating from the vascular bed to a position inside the malignant tissue, forming close contacts with target cells. LÄS MER
2. Migration of Natural Killer Cells. Matrix interaction, locomotion and regulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) by IL-2 and chemokines
Sammanfattning : Activated natural killer (NK) cells are effective anti-tumour cells. In order to reach target cells in a tumour mass they need to migrate in the extravascular space. LÄS MER
3. Migration on extracellular matrix surface and infiltration into matrix - two distinguishable activities of human T cells
Sammanfattning : Migration of T-lymphocytes on a surface coated with extracellular matrix (ECM) components (two-dimensional (2-D) migration) and migration (infiltration) into a matrix (Three-dimesional (3-D) migration) are complex events and the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Here 2-D and 3-D migration were studied by use of seven leukemic T-cell lines representing discrete differentiation stages, a non-leukemic T-cell clone, and normal peripheral blood T cells. LÄS MER
4. Structural and Functional Studies of the Density Enhanced Receptor-like Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase DEP-1
Sammanfattning : Tyrosine phosphorylation is a central mechanism in cellular signalling leading to proliferation, migration or differentiation. Protein tyrosine phosphorylation is regulated by the coordinated actions of protein tyrosine kinases and protein tyrosine phosphatases. LÄS MER
5. Regulatory Immune Responses and Repair Mechanisms in Atherosclerosis
Sammanfattning : Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of lipid rich plaques in the arterial wall. Rupture of a plaque results in clinical manifestations such myocardial infarction or stroke. LÄS MER
