  1. 6. Exploring Probabilistic Reasoning : A Study of How Students Contextualise Compound Chance Encounters in Explorative Settings

    Författare :Per Nilsson; Inger Wistedt; Lennart Hellström; Dave Pratt; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Probabilistic reasoning; randomness; compound chance encounters; contextualisation; differentiation; elaborative variation.; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Matematikdidaktik; Mathematical Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at exploring how probabilistic reasoning arises in explorative learning situations that are random in nature. The focus is especially on what learners with scant experience of formal theories of probability do and can do when dealing with compound random situations in which they are offered opportunities to integrate different probabilistic lines of reasoning. 2. 7. Med uppgift att lära : om matematikuppgifter som en resurs för lärande

    Författare :Jonas Jäder; Johan Lithner; Mathias Norqvist; Anna Teledahl; Frode Rønning; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; task; mathematical problem; textbook; problem solving; reasoning; beliefs; mathematical challenge; upper secondary school; Matematikuppgift; Matematiskt problem; Problemlösning; Lärobok; Matematiskt resonemang; Gymnasieskolan; Utmaningar; matematikdidaktik; didactics of mathematics; Utbildning och lärande;

    Sammanfattning : Elevers möjligheter att utveckla sin kunskap i matematik påverkas av de uppgifter de arbetar med. Det är möjligt att göra en distinktion mellan rutinuppgifter och matematiska problem. En rutinuppgift är en uppgift som en elev kan lösa genom att använda en välbekant metod, eller genom att imitera en förlaga. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Matematiska resonemang i en lärandemiljö med dynamiska matematikprogram

    Författare :Mats Brunström; Kenneth Ruthven; Arne Engström; Anne Berit Fuglestad; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical reasoning; Task design; Dynamic mathematics software; matematiska resonemang; uppgiftsdesign; dynamiska matematikprogram; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : The overall problem that formed the basis for this thesis is that students get limited opportunity to develop their mathematical reasoning ability while, at the same time, there are dynamic mathematics software available which can be used to foster this ability. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to knowledge in this area by focusing on task design in a dynamic software environment and by studying the reasoning that emerges when students work on tasks in such an environment. 4. 9. Matematiska argument i helklassdiskussioner : En studie av elevers och lärares multimodala kommunikation i matematik i åk 3-5

    Författare :Anna-Karin Nordin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mathematical arguments; reasoning; argumentation; multimodality; classroom communication; matematikämnets didaktik; Mathematics Education;

    Sammanfattning : This study aimed at investigating and analysing the communication occurring during whole class discussions, with a specific focus on the nature of the mathematical arguments. The investigation was a qualitative case study where the communication during eight whole class discussions in grade 3-5 were analysed. LÄS MER

  5. 10. GeoGebra, Enhancing Creative Mathematical Reasoning

    Författare :Jan Olsson; Carina Granberg; Johan Lithner; Kristina Juter; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Linjära funktioner; dynamiska programvaror; problemlösning; resonemang; Utbildning och lärande; Education and Learning;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of four articles and this summarizing part. All parts have focused on bringing some insights into how to design a didactical situation including dynamic software (GeoGebra) to support students’ mathematical problem solving and creative reasoning as means for learning. The four included articles are:I. Granberg, C. LÄS MER
