  1. 11. Defects in E-PBF Ti-6Al-4V and their Effect on Fatigue Behaviour : Characteristics, Distribution and Impact on Life

    Författare :Viktor Sandell; Marta-Lena Antti; Pia Åkerfeldt; Thomas Hansson; Hans Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Defects; Additive Manufacturing; Ti-6Al-4V; Probabilistic Modelling; Fatigue; Materialteknik; Engineering Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Layer by layer manufacturing (additive manufacturing, AM) of metals is emerging as an alternative to conventional subtractive manufacturing with the goal of enabling near net-shape production of complex part geometries with reduced material waste and shorter lead times. Recently this field has experienced rapid growth through industrial adaptation but has simultaneously encountered challenges. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Macrophage-material surface interactions

    Författare :Christina Gretzer; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apoptosis; biomaterials; cell-cell interactions; cell-material interactions; cytokines; differentiation; fibrinogen; hydrogen peroxide; LPS; monocytes; particles;

    Sammanfattning : Material surface-stimulated activation of the macrophage and the release of mediators has been suggested to be an important factor for inflammation and tissue regeneration around biomedical implants. Macrophage interactions with particles released from implants as well as macophage-bacteria interactions are also involved in implant loosening processes. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Tracing Smartphone-Enabled Customer Journeys : A Socio-Material Approach

    Författare :Patrik Stoopendahl; Jens Hultman; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Customer journey; Socio-material perspectives; Trace ethnography; Agency; Smartphone; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis delves into the transformation of the customer journey—that is, the direct and indirect interactions between a customer and retailer over time—in the smartphone era. Using a socio-material perspective, it goes beyond current visions of the customer journey, which often focus on emotions and experiences, and instead explores how agency is distributed across elements that include consumers and their relationship with their smartphone as a device and a gateway to a digital market infrastructure. 4. 14. A Study on the Reaction between MgO Based Refractories and Slag-Towards the Development of Carbon-free Lining Material

    Författare :Huijun Wang; Sichen Du; Stuart Millman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MgO refractory; lining material; carbon-free; clean steel; ladle glaze; slag penetration; dissolution mechanism; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In present thesis, the fundamental studies on the reaction between MgO based refractories and slag were undertaken for the development of a carbon-free bonding MgO lining material. Alumina was selected as a potential binder material. Due to MgO-Al2O3 chemical reaction, the developed refractory was bonded by MgO·Al2O3 spinel phase. LÄS MER

  5. 15. ”Med coleurt omslag” : färgade, dekorerade och tryckta omslag på svensk bokmarknad 1787-1846. En bokhistoria

    Författare :Helena Strömquist; Avdelningen för bokhistoria; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; marbled papers; graphical design; printed wrappers; consumption of books; history of paper binding; the putting-out system; book distribution; publisher’s bindings; material bibliography; material culture; sociology of texts; history of bookbinding; history of consumption; book market; bookbinding technique.; history of the book;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the dissertation is to examine the significance of the paperbound book on the book market as part of the history of consumption. It is an examination of the materiality of the book, in which the form and function, economics and distribution of the binding during the last century of the hand-press era are studied. LÄS MER
