  1. 11. The Neutral Particle Detector on the Mars and Venus Express missions

    Författare :Alexander Grigoriev; Stas Barabash; Brian J. Anderson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Space and plasma physics; ENA imaging; exosphere; magnetosphere; Mars; Venus; solar wind interaction; Rymd- och plasmafysik; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Neutral Particle Detector (NPD) is a new type of instrumentation for energetic neutral atom (ENA) diagnostics. This thesis deals with development of the NPD sensor designed as a part of the plasma and neutral particle packages ASPERA-3 and ASPERA-4 on board Mars Express and Venus Express, the European Space Agency (ESA) satellites to Mars and Venus, respectively. 2. 12. Petrology and Geochemistry of the nakhlite meteorites : Tracking complex igneous and aqueous processes on Mars during the Amazonian

    Författare :Hélène Breton; University of Glasgow; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mars; Nakhlites; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The overarching science question being addressed by this research project was the geological history of the nakhlite group of Martian meteorites as representative of a young Amazonian Martian crust. This included the magmatic processes and mechanism of emplacement at the origin of the meteorites but also the nature of a young Amazonian Martian aquifer that circulated throughout the nakhlites bedrock from its chemistry, origin and longevity. 3. 13. A planetary chamber to investigate the thermal and water cycle on Mars

    Författare :Abhilash Vakkada Ramachandran; María-Paz Zorzano; Javier Martin-Torres; Akos Kereszturi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mars; space chamber; ISRU; water cycle simulation; pure liquid water; habitability; heat transfer; Atmospheric science; Atmosfärsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The water processes that affect the upper layers of the surface of Mars are not yet fully understood. Describing the processes that may induce changes in the water content ofthe surface is critical to determine the present-day habitability of the Martian surface,understand the atmospheric water cycle, and estimate the efficiency of future water extraction procedures from the regolith for In-Situ-Resource-Utilization (ISRU). 4. 14. Development of the Wind and Air Temperature Sensor of the ExoMars 2022 HABIT Instrument

    Författare :Álvaro Soria-Salinas; María-Paz Zorzano Mier; Javier Martin-Torres; Patel Manish; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mars; Atmosphere; Heat transfer; Forced convection; Wind; Space instrumentation; Exploration; Atmospheric science; Atmosfärsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This work presents the development, validation and calibration of the air temperature sensors (ATS) and the air and wind retrieval method of the HABIT (HabitAbility: Brines, Irradiation and Temperature) instrument. HABIT is one of the two European  payloads of the ESA/Roscosmos ExoMars 2022 mission that will land at Oxia Planum (18.20° N, 335. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Perfumes between Venus and Mars : How gender categorization of perfumes is (not) related to odor perception and odor preference

    Författare :Anna Lindqvist; Mats Nilsson; Moustafa Bensafi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; odor perception; perfumes; femininity; masculinity; gender-sensitive research; gender differences; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : How we smell is important to a lot of people, as indicated by the high spending on perfumes. Most perfumes are categorized as feminine or masculine, and this gender categorization is an important factor when people purchase perfumes. LÄS MER
