    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nexus; Nexus approach; integrated resource assessments; CLEWs; integrated assessment modelling; knowledge transfer; sustainable development; Nexus; Nexus approach; integrerad resursbedömningar; CLEWs; integrerad bedömningsmodellering; kunskapsöverföring; hållbar utveckling; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The last decade has seen the emergence of a new research theme - the study of the resources Nexus. The “Nexus” refers to considering the functioning of several systems simultaneously, as opposed to one, as the object of research. This perspective reasons that coherent decision-making needs to consider systems' interconnectedness. LÄS MER

  2. 12. New methods and applications to explore the dynamics of least-cost technologies in geospatial electrification modelling

    Författare :Andreas Sahlberg; Francesco Fuso Nerini; William Usher; Mark Howells; James Morrissey; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Access to modern energy services is a pre-requisite for sustainable development. As such, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. However, as of 2021, 675 million people lack access to electricity, and 2.3 billion people lack access to clean cooking fuels. LÄS MER

  3. 13. An analysis of factors influencing renewable energy deployment in the EU’s electricity sector

    Författare :Abhishek Shivakumar; Mark I. Howells; Mikael Höök; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; renewable energy; energy storage; interruption costs; long-term energy models; cross-border interconnectors; European Union;

    Sammanfattning : The EU has set itself ambitious short- and long-term decarbonisation targets: a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels. The power generation sector, currently responsible for around 55% of GHG emissions, is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the EU’s decarbonisation targets. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Techno-economic assessment of wind energy for renewable hydrogen production in Sweden

    Författare :Shahid Hussain Siyal; Mark I Howells; Francesco F Nerini; Alberto Traverso; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Wind energy deployment has been growing globally. The resource is expected to play an important role in achieving economic and environmental sustainability - depending on its level of availability, economics, and policy.  Sweden has committed to have 20 TWh/year production of onshore wind energy in the national electricity sector by the year 2020.
