1. Current Medical Treatment of Endocrine Pancreatic Tumors and Future Aspects
Sammanfattning : We treated 16 patients with somatostatin analogs combined with α-interferon and achieved a biochemical and/or radiological response in 56% (median duration 22 months). We consider this treatment a good alternative for patients who fail during chemotherapy or who do not want to/cannot receive cytotoxic drugs. LÄS MER
2. Cyclin A and cyclin E as prognostic factors in early breast cancer
Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. Due to early detection and the use of screening programs approximately 60% of all new cases lack lymph node involvement. Today, a substantial proportion of these women will be offered adjuvant systemic chemotherapy. LÄS MER
3. Cell cycle alterations and 11q13 amplification in breast cancer : prediction of adjuvant treatment response
Sammanfattning : The growth and development of the breast is to a large extent regulated by oestrogens through the oestrogen receptor (ER). Activation of the ERα triggers transcription of genes that are important for cell proliferation and stimulates entry into the G1 phase of the cell cycle. LÄS MER
4. Taxane-induced pain : Experiences of women with breast cancer and nurses providing their care

5. The Prognostic Impact of Proliferation Markers in Breast Cancer with Emphasis on Cyclin B1 and PPH3
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the prognostic role of the proliferation markers cyclin B1 and Phosphorylated Histone 3 (PPH3) in breast cancer (BC).In paper I we used an experimental study design, we compared women dying early from their BC with women free from relapse more than eight years after initial diagnosis.
