16. Selective ADAR editing and the coordination with splicing
Sammanfattning : Maturation of precursor messenger RNAs (pre-mRNA) in eukaryotes includes processes like capping, 3’ end formation and splicing. Some premRNAs undergo an additional process called RNA editing where a single nucleotide is modified to generate a new nucleotide identity. LÄS MER
17. Controlling protein homeostasis through regulation of Heat shock factor 1
Sammanfattning : In order to thrive in a changing environment all organisms need to ensure protein homeostasis (proteostasis). Proteostasis is ensured by the proteostasis system that monitors the folding status of the proteome and regulates cell physiology and gene expression to counteract any perturbations. LÄS MER
18. Novel sites of A-to-I RNA editing in the mammalian brain
Sammanfattning : The number of protein-coding genes are likely not sufficient to account for the complexity of higher organisms. It is plausible that the proteome is responsible for the complexity of an organism. LÄS MER
19. Oxidized nucleotides as a predictor of radiation sensitivity
Sammanfattning : The direct and indirect effects of IR can lead to DNA damage and activation of DNA repair. The indirect effects of ionizing radiation mediated by reactive oxygen species (ROS) which produced through radiolysis of water and if not taken care of by the antioxidant system, can also give rise to oxidative stress. 20. Betygsättningsprocess i ämnetidrott och hälsa : en studie om betygsättningsdilemman påhögstadiet
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to investigate how assessment processes in secondary school Physical Education and Health (PEH) are manifested in PEH teachers’ concrete grading based on the new Swedish curriculum from 2011. Three major questions are formulated: Which difficulties and possibilities do PEH teachers experience during assessment based on the new curriculum? How do they motivate their grades? Which dilemmas do they describe in connection with their grading? The curriculum theories by Bernstein and Swedish theorist Linde were chosen as theoretical framework. LÄS MER
