  1. 6. Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Evaluations of Some Side Effects of Orthodontic Treatment

    Författare :Henrik Lund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cone beam computed tomography; orthodontics; adolescents; root resorption; marginal bone height;

    Sammanfattning : In the late 1990s a new imaging modality, Cone Beam CT (CBCT) that enables high quality three-dimensional imaging at lower doses than Computed Tomography (CT), was introduced in dento-maxillofacial imaging. In 2005 the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU), in a review of scientific articles on Malocclusions and Orthodontic Treatment in a Health Perspective, found low or contradictive evidence for an association between orthodontic treatment and risks for negative side effects. 2. 7. On loading protocols and abutment use in implant dentistry. Clinical studies

    Författare :Catharina Göthberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; abutment design; clinical studies; dental implants; dental prosthesis; implant-supported; gene expression; health; immediate implant loading; marginal bone loss; osseointegration; prosthodontics; risk factors; smoking; treatment outcome;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Research questions: The influence of immediate or delayed loading and the use of abutments in implant dentistry with regard to peri-implant tissues and the effect of risk parameters. Methodology: Fifty partially edentulous patients each received three Brånemark TiUnite™ implants. LÄS MER

  3. 8. On the biological behavior of barrier membranes: implications for Guided Bone Regeneration. Clinical and Experimental studies

    Författare :Alberto Turri; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Guided Bone Regeneration; Membranes;

    Sammanfattning : There is a continuous development of bone augmentation solutions to meet the rising demand for effective dental implant rehabilitations. One of the most used techniques is Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). LÄS MER

  4. 9. The peri-implant tissues from an esthetic perspective

    Författare :Moontaek Chang; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; clinical; dental implants; esthetics; single-tooth replacements; soft tissues; infra-occlusion; bone alterations;

    Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the thesis was to evaluate the dimensions and position of peri-implant soft tissues in relation to the topography and alterations of the bone support, and the tissues’ significance for an esthetic appreciation of implant therapy. A comparative evaluation of crown and soft tissue dimensions between implant-supported single-tooth replacements and the contra-lateral natural tooth was made in Study I. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    Författare :Shrikant S Kolan; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Mikael Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells.
