  1. 1. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Måns Jungner; Stefan Lundgren; Malou Hultcrantz; Carina Lundqvist; Peter Nilsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental implants; surface characteristics; bone graft; maxillary sinus; implant survival; oxidized surface; turned surface; sinus membrane elevation; bone formation; macrophages; osteocalcin; osteopontin; CD68; odontologi; Odontology;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III). 2. 2. Radiographic follow-up analysis of Br?nemark? dental implants

    Författare :Solweig Sundén Pikner; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cluster effect; Dental implants; Dependency; Diagnostic accuracy; Long-term follow-up; Marginal bone level; Observer variation; Osseointegration; Prediction;

    Sammanfattning : Radiography plays an important role in clinical routine practice and in research projects evaluating dental implants, among them Br?nemark? System. Presence of a peri-implant radiolucency has been used in studies as a criterion for implant failure without knowledge of its diagnostic accuracy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On guided bone reformation in the maxillary sinus to enable placement and integration of endosseous implants. Clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Giovanni Cricchio; Stefan Lundgren; Lars Sennerby; Gerry Raghoebar; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :bone grafting; donor morbidity; iliac crest; dental implants; membrane elevation; maxillary sinus floor elevation;

    Sammanfattning : Dental caries and periodontal disease are the major causes for tooth loss. While dental caries commonly involve the posterior teeth in both jaws, the teeth most commonly lost due to periodontal problems are the first and second molars in the maxilla. As a consequence, the upper posterior jaw is frequently edentulous. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Behandling med käkbensförankrade tandimplantat är en vanlig metod för att ersätta förlorade tänder hos helt och partiellt tandlösa patienter. Trots att implantatbehandling uppvisar en långsiktigt hög lyckande- och överlevnadsfrekvens (90–95% efter 10 år) så förekommer implantatförluster och marginal benförlust kring implantaten under det första året efter insättning och/eller belastning, vilket kan försämra det estetiska resultatet. 5. 5. On magnesium-containing implants for bone applications

    Författare :Silvia Galli; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The biomedical technologies for bone application are employed in millions of patients every year to restore function and aesthetics following trauma, diseases and congenital deformities. They achieved significant advancements in the last decades and have resulted in the development of implants that function for long periods of time. LÄS MER
