    Sammanfattning : HIV-1 infection of CD4+ immune cells requires the assistance of cellular coreceptors. The regulation of these receptors is highly dynamic. HIV-1 subtype C (HIV-1C) is the most rapidly expanding subtype accounting for half of the global disease and nearly all infections in Ethiopia, Southern Africa and India which are the regions with the highest burden of HIV-1 infection.
