16. Unplanned managerial work : A driver for knowledge creation and innovation capabilities in manufacturing SMEs
Sammanfattning : Manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are important as they contribute to economic growth, employment opportunities and social integration. Their innovation capability is central to strengthening competitiveness, adaptability, and developing new sustainable solutions. LÄS MER
17. Weld Pool Simulations
Sammanfattning : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling. 18. Knowledge Dissemination in Multinational Corporations
Sammanfattning : Today’s globalization trend in industry is of major importance for world economy. One effect of the globalization trend is that international companies are exposed to a broadened knowledge base. A major competitive advantage for a multinational corporation (MNC) is its ability to utilize knowledge that is situated at the different locations. LÄS MER
19. Towards interoperable information and communication systems for manufacturing operations
Sammanfattning : Mass customization and the demand for flexible manufacturing systems have increase focus on the human workers. Diversity and complexity of the products that manufacturing operators have to handle is constantly on the rise. LÄS MER
20. Voltage Stabilizers: From Design to Synthesis, Processing and Electrical Characterization
Sammanfattning : Voltage stabilizers are additives capable of inhibiting electrical treeing; a degradation mechanism for insulation materials subjected to strong divergent electric fields. The intended use is in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) high voltage power cable insulation where minute defects in the manufacturing process can give rise to the conditions needed for the initiation of treeing, which in the worst case scenario leads to failure of the insulation system with blackouts and expensive repairs as a consequence.
