1. Transport properties of Bi2Se3 Topological Insulator Nanoribbon-Superconductor hybrid junctions
Sammanfattning : In recent years, topological superconductivity and Majorana zero-energy modes have attracted vast interest due to their potential for topologically protected quantum information processing. Hybrid devices involving a conventional s-wave superconductor (S) in proximity to a 3D Topological Insulator (TI) are expected to provide a platform for emulating and studying these phenomena. 2. Electronic structure and transport in exotic nanostructures
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the physics of nanostructures involving nanowires, quantum dots, superconductors, and topological insulators. These systems serve as excellent platforms for fundamental physics studies and quantum technology applications. LÄS MER
3. The one-dimensional Kondo Lattice in the Majorana Fermion representation
Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses the possibilities offered by the representation of quantum mechanical operators in terms of Majorana fermions. These objects can be imagined as algebraic constituents of the fermionic degrees of freedom, allowing for a different representation of many Hamiltonians. LÄS MER
4. Charge Transport in Semiconductor Nanowire Quantum Devices: From Single Quantum Dots to Topological Superconductors
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on charge transport in semiconductor InSb nanowire quantum devices, including the electron transport, the hole transport, and the Cooper pair transport. Devices in which InSb semiconductor nanowire quantum dots are coupled with normal metals, superconductors or the proximity effect induced topological superconductors are fabricated and measured. 5. Quantum Transport in Superconductor-Semiconductor Nanowire Hybrid Devices
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we study quantum transport properties of superconductor-semiconductor nanowire hybrid devices. We mainly focus on the quantum transport in InSb nanowire Josephson quantum dot devices, i.e. quantum dots coupled to two pieces of superconductors. LÄS MER
