1. Azimuthal Correlations in Dijet Events from Deep Inelastic Positron-Proton Scattering at HERA
Sammanfattning : Correlations in the azimuthal angle between dijets produced in deep inelastic $e^{+}p$ scattering events, collected by the H1 experiment during 1999-2000, have been investigated. Cross sections are presented as a function of the azimuthal separation between the two jets in the hadronic center of mass frame, $Deltaphi^{*}$, in different regions of the photon virtuality $Q^{2}$ and in different regions of the Bjorken scaling variable $x_{Bj}$. 2. From dusk till dawn : three essays on organizational closedowns
Sammanfattning : This thesis present three essays on organizational closedowns, where productivity effects under uncertainty and threat on the single-firm level is in focus. On a broad level, this thesis aims to develop better explanations of the process of organizational closedowns. LÄS MER
3. Mitochondrial permeability transition following calcium overload. - Its role in neuronal cell death and potential as a pharmacological target
Sammanfattning : There is currently no clinically available drug with neuroprotective properties to limit the evolving cell death following e.g. stroke or traumatic brain injury. The mitochondrial permeability transition (mPT) is a potential pathological mechanism causing cell death in the CNS. LÄS MER
4. Studies on human sterol 27-hydroxylase with emphasis on its mechanism of regulation and metabolic consequences of a deficient enzyme
Sammanfattning : Sterol 27-hydroxylase (CYP27A1) is a mitochondrial cytochrome P-450 enzyme present in most animal cells. In hepatocytes, CYP27A1 has an important role in connection with biosynthesis of bile acids from cholesterol. LÄS MER
5. On closedowns : towards a pattern of explanations to the closedown effect
Sammanfattning : Productivity effects under uncertainty and threat is the topic of this thesis. It comprises a synthesis and four papers on closedown – focusing a phenomenon where there is an overall productivity increase during the closedown process. LÄS MER
