  1. 1. MRI assessment of haemophilic arthropathy

    Författare :Björn Lundin; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Arthropathy; Factor VIII; Factor IX; MRI; Haemophilia; Klinisk fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Haemophilia is a recessive genetic bleeding disorder in which coagulation time is prolonged due to the absence or malfunction of either of the serum proteins Factor VIII or IX. Joint destruction following repeated haemarthroses is the main cause of morbidity in haemophiliacs, and such arthropathy can be prevented or postponed by implementing prophylactic therapy with factor concentrate at an early age. 2. 2. The extent of gynaecological cancer : Evaluation, outcome and quality of life

    Författare :Björg Jónsdottir; Karin Stålberg; Inger Sundström Poromaa; Håkan Ahlström; Päivi Kannisto; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ovarian cancer; endometrial cancer; cytoreductive surgery CRS ; PET MRI; MRI; Peritoneal cancer index PCI ; myometrial invasion MI ; quality of life.; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to enhance treatment planning for gynaecological cancer patients and identify women that are more likely to have impaired quality of life (QoL) after treatment. In a retrospective cohort study on ovarian cancer, the peritoneal cancer index (PCI) was examined in relation to incomplete cytoreductive surgeries (CRS) and surgical complications (n=167). 3. 3. Cerebral arterial pulsatility imaging using 4D flow MRI : methodological development and applications in brain aging

    Författare :Tomas Vikner; Anders Wåhlin; Anders Eklund; Jan Malm; Lars Nyberg; Susanne Schnell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Magnetic resonance imaging; 4D flow MRI; medical image analysis; cerebral hemodynamics; arterial pulsatility; DCE MRI; blood-brain barrier; white matter lesions; perivascular spaces; cerebral small vessel disease; hippocampus; cognition; aging; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap; Biomedical Radiation Science;

    Sammanfattning : 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly recognizedas a versatile tool to assess arterial and venous hemodynamics. Cerebral arterial pulsatility is typically assessed by analyzing flow waveforms over the cardiac cycle, where flow amplitude is a function of cardiac output, central arterial stiffness, and cerebrovascular resistance and compliance. 4. 4. Optimized use of MRI in a PSA based prostate cancer screening program

    Författare :Jonas Wallström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MRI; prostate cancer; screening;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to optimize different aspects of the use of MRI in screening for prostate cancer. Paper 1 was based on preoperative MRI in a prostatectomy cohort. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Electrocardiographic Imaging of Myocardial Ischemia, Infarction and Scar: Correlation with SPECT, MRI and Arrhythmias

    Författare :David G Strauss; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Electrocardiography; Imaging; Arrhythmias; Ischemia; Infarction; Cardiomyopathy; SPECT; MRI;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development and testing of electrocardiographic (ECG) methods to diagnose and characterize myocardial ischemia, infarction and fibrosis (scar). The goal is to provide improved decision support to physicians regarding the optimal selection of patients for two costly, invasive therapies – percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) for patients with heart failure and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).
