  1. 1. Inflammation and neuroprotective strategies in the immature brain after hypoxic-ischemic brain injury

    Författare :Pernilla Svedin; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hypoxia-ischemia; LPS; immature; brain; inflammation; NAC; melatonin; G-2mPE; MMP-9; MMP-12;

    Sammanfattning : Perinatal brain injury, as a result of hypoxia-ischemia (HI) or infection/HI, is a major cause of acute mortality and neurological morbidity in infants and children. The mechanisms of perinatal HI are not fully understood, which makes it difficult to find effective treatment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Proteolytic imbalance in COPD epidemiological and clinical aspects

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Författare :Robert Linder; Umeå universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Matrix metalloproteinases; MMP-9; MMP-12; lung function decline; epidemiology; COPD; OLIN; KOLIN; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The complete pathologic mechanism behind the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains unclear, but several risk factors have been identified, of which smoking is the most common. Proteolytic imbalance contributes to lung tissue degradation and is related to both smoking and COPD symptoms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Conformational Entropy and Protein Flexibility in Drug Design Studied by NMR Spectroscopy

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Författare :Carl Diehl; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MMP-12; Galectin-3; confomational entropy; order parameters; ITC; Protein dynamics; isothermal titration calorimetry; macrophage elastase; nuclear magnetic resonance; NMR;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins are complex molecules, present in all of the vital functions of life. The function of a protein is regulated by interactions between protein and other molecules. Drug design in pharmaceutical science aims to regulate the function of a protein by the design of synthesized molecules that binds to a protein with high affinity. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Protease Activity, Inhibition and Ligand Interaction Analysis Developments and Applications for Drug Discovery

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Thomas Gossas; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; proteases; kinetics; biosensors; inhibition; calcium; drug discovery; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The present study has focused on characterising protease-ligand interactions in the context of drug discovery. The proteases that have been studied are human matrix metallopeptidase 12 (MMP-12), HIV-protease and Hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/NS4A protease. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fragment Based Drug Discovery with Surface Plasmon Resonance Technology

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Helena Nordström; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fragment based drug discovery; SPR biosensor; matrix metalloproteinase-12; HIV-1 protease; resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Fragment based drug discovery (FBDD) has been applied to two protease drug targets, MMP-12 and HIV-1 protease. The primary screening and characterization of hit fragments were performed with surface plasmon resonance -technology. Further evaluation of the interaction was done by inhibition studies and in one case with X-ray crystallography. LÄS MER
