11. Site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for in vitro and in vivo studies
Sammanfattning : The thesis is focused on site-specific labeling of affinity molecules for different applications where two types of binding proteins, Affibody molecules and antibodies, have been used. For the purpose of improving the properties of Affibody molecules for in vivo imaging, novel bi-functional chelators for radiolabeling using the radionuclide 111In were evaluated. LÄS MER
12. Metabolism of inorganic arsenic and biomarkers of exposure
Sammanfattning : Humans as well as most mammals metabolize inorganic arsenic (Inorg As), a recognized human carcinogen, by methylation. The end-metabolites methylarsonic acid (MMA) and dimethylarsinic acid (DMA) are less toxic and more readily excreted in the urine than Inorg As. LÄS MER
13. Synthesis and Characterization of Sec-Packings Based on Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate
Sammanfattning : Suspension and bulk polymerization of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) and copolymerization of TRIM with methyl methacrylate (MMA) resulted in porous, hydrophobic, and chemically crosslinked networks. Copolymerization of TRIM with acrylamide (AA) and with N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide (bis-AA) resulted in hydrophilic gels. LÄS MER
14. Lubrication mechanism of hydrocarbon-mimicking ionic liquids
Sammanfattning : Lubrication is critical in order to achieve high efficiency and reliability of machine elements such as gears, bearings, and other moving mechanical assemblies (MMA). In space applications, tribological properties of lubricants are quickly growing more important. LÄS MER
15. Contact Allergy to Acrylates
Sammanfattning : Acrylate contact allergy has been frequently reported since the 1970s, with hundreds of articles published in dermatology journals so far. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the frequency of contact allergy to acrylates / methacrylates in patients with exposure to industrial, dental and nail uses of these substances. LÄS MER
