  1. 1. Vesicle proteins as markers for neuroendocrine tumors

    Författare :Anne-Marie Levin Jakobsen; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Neuroendocrine tumours; gastrointestinal tract; pancreas; adrenal; vesicle proteins; ; SV2; NESP55; VMAT1; VMAT2; MIBG;

    Sammanfattning : The neuroendocrine (NE) tumours comprise a diversity of tumours which share commonproperties, e.g. the capacity to produce, store and release hormones. A prominent feature ofthe NE phenotype is the production of secretory granules with associated vescicle proteins,e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Therapy of neuroendocrine tumors with 177Lu-octreotate - Human tumor cell types and models and optimization of treatment : Terapi av neuroendokrina tumörer med 177Lu-octreotate

    Författare :Johanna Dalmo; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; somatostatin; radionuclide therapy; receptor up-regulation; RBP; nephrotoxicity;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroendocrine (NE) tumors (NET) have often metastasized at the time of diagnose, which makes it hard to cure patients with NET. Radiolabeled hormone analogues (especially somatostatin analogues, SS) can be used for diagnostics (e.g. 111In-octreotide) and therapy (e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microphysiometry in the evaluation of cytotoxic drugs with special emphasis on the novel cyanoguanidine CHS 828

    Författare :Sara Ekelund; Sigurd Vitols; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Cytotoxic drug development; Cytosensor microphysiometer; cellular metabolism; CHS 828; guanidino-containing compound; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; klinisk farmakologi; Clinical Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the use of a new technology, the Cytosensor® microphysiometer, in the in vitro evaluation of cytotoxic drugs, using the lymphoma cell line U-937 GTB and primary cultures of tumour cells from patients as model systems. The method was specifically applied to study the metabolic effects of the novel cyanoguanidine N-(6-(4-chlorophenoxy)hexyl)-N’-cyano-N’’-4-pyridylguanidine, CHS 828, currently in phase I/II clinical trials. 4. 4. Image Quality Optimisation and Dose Management in CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT

    Författare :Marcus Söderberg; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CT; SPECT; PET; dosimetry; image quality; optimisation; dose reduction; automatic exposure control; contrast medium; phantom; image reconstruction; human observer;

    Sammanfattning : The significant increase in the use of CT, alone or combined with SPECT or PET, has raised concerns about patient radiation exposure and the consequent increased risk of malignancy later in life. The overall objective of this work was to evaluate and optimise different approaches for minimising patient radiation absorbed dose and maintaining or improving image quality in CT, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT.
