  1. 1. Colonic pouch anastomosis after rectal excision for cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Olof Hallböök; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1996]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Total mesorectal excision; low anterior resection; colonic pouch; coloanal anastomosis; neorectum; quality of life; laser-Doppler flowmetry; gut peptides; anorectal physiology; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Anastomoses at the level of the pelvic floor will become increasingly more common in rectal cancer surgery when total mesorectal excision is used as a standard procedure to obtain local mdicality. A consequence of such low anastomoses is increased risk of healing disturbances and poor distal bowel function, The aim of this thesis was to focus on reconstruction after total mesorectal excision. 2. 2. Rectal cancer surgery Defunctioning stoma, anastomotic leakage and postoperative monitoring

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronci Press

    Författare :Peter Matthiessen; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anterior resection of the rectum; total mesorectal excision; TME; anastomotic leakage; defunctioning stoma; risk factors; intraoperative adverse events; population based study; postoperative monitoring; CT-scan microdialysis; cytokines; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The understanding of the mesorectal spread in rectal cancer has lead to wide acceptance of total mesorectal excision (TME) as the surgical technique of choice for carcinoma in the lower and mid rectum. While oncological results and survival have improved with TME-surgery, morbidity and mortality remain important issues. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Colon cancer : aspects on surgical treatment and complete mesocolic excision

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Molecular Medicine and Surgery

    Författare :Richard Bernhoff; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In rectal cancer, total mesorectal excision (TME), including surgery with dissection outside the mesorectal fascia, together with pre-operative radiotherapy improves survival. An educational effort on TME improved results in rectal cancer in Stockholm in the 1990’s. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Rectal cancer : Aspects of surgery and radiotherapy

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Michael Dahlberg; Uppsala universitet.; [1999]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Rectal cancer; surgery; preoperative radiotherapy; local recurrence; survival; adverse effects; cost-effectiveness; Kirurgi; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : In rectal cancer, local failure is one of the principle causes of morbidity and mortality. The use of radiotherapy as an adjuvant treatment in resectable rectal cancer is extensively studied in order to lower unacceptably high local failure rates. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Magnetic resonance imaging of rectum : Diagnostic and therapy related aspects

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery

    Författare :Michael R Torkzad; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Papers I-II: The purpose of paper 1 was to assess the size and configuration of the perirectal fatty tissues (PF) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In 25 subjects the volume and cross-sectional parameters based on the amount of PF to different sides of die rectum, and the total area occupied were retrospectively measured on MRI. LÄS MER
