    Sammanfattning : Islet transplantation has found its niche in diabetes treatment. It has contributed to a better quality of life and better glycemic control of patients with diabetes suffering from severe hypoglycemia that are not eligible for vascularized pancreas transplantation. Islet isolation is a technically challenging procedure. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The extracellular matrix is (ECM) is a network of large, structural proteins and polysaccharides, important for cellular behavior, tissue development and maintenance. Present thesis describes work exploring ECM as scaffolds for tissue engineering by manipulating cells cultured in vitro or by influencing ECM expression in vivo. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Pancreatic Cancer - Early Detection, Prognostic Factors, and Treatment

    Detta är en avhandling från Surgery (Lund)

    Författare :Daniel Ansari; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; artificial neural networks; apicidin; centralization; early detection; epigenetics; high definition mass spectrometry; MUC4; pancreatic cancer; pancreaticoduodenectomy; prognostic factors; xenograft model; treatment;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death. Only about 6% of patients are alive 5 years after diagnosis. One reason for this low survival rate is that most patients are diagnosed at a late stage, when the tumor has spread to surrounding tissues or distant organs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Intraperitoneal microdialysis : technique and results

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro universitetsbibliotek

    Författare :Kjell Jansson; Örebro universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; kirurgi; MEDICINE Surgery; MEDICIN Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Microdialysis has recently developed from a laboratory research method of animals to a useful clinical tool to evaluate parameters suggesting tissue ischemia. It is now used in neurosurgery, plastic surgery and liver transplantation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. In vitro and in vivo studies of tissue engineering in reconstructive plastic surgery

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro universitetsbibliotek

    Författare :Fredrik R.M. Huss; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2005]
