  1. 1. Examining Female Resilience to Early Environmental Influences : Short- and long-term consequences on behaviour, HPA axis activity and alcohol intake after prolonged maternal separation

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Uppsala University

    Författare :Stina Lundberg; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescence; Adulthood; Corticosterone; Early-life stress; Handling; Maternal deprivation; Multivariate concentric square field; MCSF; Sex differences; Social play behavior; Stress reactivity; Supplier differences; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Early-life experiences are an important factor influencing further development of the individual. Adverse experiences early in life, such as various kinds of abuse or neglect, are types of early-life stress that can adversely affect an individuals health, as well as contribute to the development of an array of disorders later in life. 4. 4. Modelling depression in animals and the potential antidepressant effect of histaminergic modulation

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Neuroscience

    Författare :Salvatore Magara; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Depression is at the top position for "years lived with disability" (Smith, 2014). Its aetiology is unknown, but the pathogenesis implicates changes in glutamatergic neuronal plasticity. Glutamatergic plasticity likely mediates the effects of antidepressants acting through monoamines. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Functional aspects of prothrombin in bone

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Laboratory Medicine

    Författare :Erik Karlström; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Prothrombin (PT) is the inactive zymogen to the serine protease alpha-thrombin which in the coagulation cascade is responsible for clot formation through converting fibrinogen to fibrin. PT has been shown to be present in calcified bone matrix, and alpha-thrombin has been implicated in various bone resorbing disorders of inflammatory origin, such as rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis.
