21. Compositional optimization of large-scale discrete event systems
Sammanfattning : Optimization of industrial processes such as manufacturing cells can have great impact on their performance. Finding optimal solutions to these large-scale systems is, however, a complex problem. They typically include multiple subsystems, and the search space generally grows exponentially with each subsystem. LÄS MER
22. Optimization of Just-in-Time Sequencing Problems and Supply Chain Logistics
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a comprehensive and comparative progress in sequencing approaches of mixed-model just-in-time (JIT) sequencing problem together with discrete apportioment problem (DAP). The goal of JIT sequencing problem (JITSP) is to keep the rate of usage of parts as constant as possible along the assembly lines, and the goal of DAP is to divide a given integer number of delegates proportionally among the states or the parties according to their population or votes. 23. On Methods for Discrete Topology Optimization of Continuum Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of an introduction and seven appended papers. The purpose of the introduction is to give an overview of the field of topology optimization of discretized load carrying continuum structures. LÄS MER
24. Feasible Direction Methods for Constrained Nonlinear Optimization : Suggestions for Improvements
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development of novel feasible direction type algorithms for constrained nonlinear optimization. The new algorithms are based upon enhancements of the search direction determination and the line search steps. LÄS MER
25. Optimization of truck tyres selection
Sammanfattning : This thesis, which consists of an introduction and five appended papers, concerns the optimal selection of tyres for a variety of vehicle configurations as well as operating environments. The selection problem stems from a project cooperation between Chalmers University of Technology and Volvo Group Trucks Technology. LÄS MER
