  1. 11. Chiral Recognition by Means of Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Oleksii Rebrov; Mats Larsson; Per Johnsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chirality; Mass spectrometry; Chiral recognition; Gas phase; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on experimental studies of chiral ions in gas-phase. Electrospray ion source platform (Stockholm University) and commercially available Quadrupole Time-of-Flight mass spectrometer have been used in our studies. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Secondary and Higher Order Structural Characterization of Peptides and Proteins by Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Christopher Adams; Roman Zubarev; Göran Possnert; Carlito Lebrilla; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Engineering physics; Protein Structure; Mass Spectrometry; Electron Capture Dissociation; Tandem Mass Spectrometry; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis has demonstrated the advantages and limitations of using MS based technologies in protein and peptide structural studies. Tandem MS, specifically electron capture dissociation (ECD) have shown the ability to provide structural insights in molecules containing the slightest of all modifications (D-AA substitution). 3. 13. Mass Spectrometry of Biologically Active Small Molecules : Focusing on polyphenols, alkaloids and amino acids

    Författare :Zdeněk Spáčil; Leopold L. Ilag; Frantisek Turecek; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LC-MS; LDI; Mass spectrometry; HPLC; UHPLC; polyphenols; phenolic acids; BMAA; Separation methods; Separationsmetoder; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The foci of this dissertation are on advanced liquid chromatography (LC) separation and mass spectrometry (MS) techniques for the analysis of small bioactive molecules. In addition to discussing general aspects of such techniques the results from analyses of polyphenols (PPs), alkaloids and amino acids published in five appended studies are presented and discussed. 4. 14. Bioanalysis using capillary electrophoresis and mass spectrometry : Applied on proteins, protein nanofibrils and polyvinyl alcohol microbubbles

    Författare :Leila Josefsson; Åsa Emmer; Ulrika Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; : amyloid; capillary electrophoresis; contrast agents; detection; human blood plasma; ionic liquids; mass spectrometry; microbubbles; polyvinyl alcohol microbubbles; protein nanofibrils; proteins; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The sequencing of the genome of various species, including the human species, have led to increased understanding about how a protein structure is generated, and how specific structures are related to the proteins’ functionality. In paper I and II of this thesis, the folding of proteins in vitro to form hierarchical nanostructures, which in vivo often have a pathological effect, have been studied. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Metabolite Profiling of Drugs using Mass Spectrometry : Identification of analytical targets for doping control and improvements of the metabolite search process

    Författare :Malin Nilsson Broberg; Mikael Hedeland; Ulf Bondesson; Curt Pettersson; Börje Tidstedt; Peter Van Eenoo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mass spectrometry; UHPLC-HRMS; Doping control; Metabolite profile; SARM; Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator; MVDA; Microsomes; Experimental design; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Doping is defined as the use of prohibited substances or methods by the World Anti-Doping Agency and the aim with doping control analysis is to detect the use of these illicit substances or methods. Substances that are prohibited in human or equine sports have either a positive or negative impact on the performance. LÄS MER
