  1. 21. 99mTc-DMSA renal scintigraphy in the diagnosis and follow-up of acute pyelonephritis in children

    Författare :Lena Wallin; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; progressive renal damage; kidney length; kidney radioactive uptake; pyelonephritis; DMSA-scintigraphy; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis was to define and evaluate a strategy for identification of children who are at risk of developing progressive renal lesions after acute pyelonephritis. Tc-DMSA renal scintigraphy is widely accepted as the most sensitive method for detecting parenchymal lesions and diagnosing acute pyelonephritis. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Importance of MAPK and PKC in cerebrovascular endothelin receptor changes

    Författare :Marie Henriksson; Lund Medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi; toxicology; pharmacy; pharmacognosy; Pharmacological sciences; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Fysiologi; Physiology; cerebral arteries; ischemia; receptors; endothelin; Farmakologi;

    Sammanfattning : Endothelin is a vasoactive peptide that exerts its effect through two receptors; the endothelin type A (ETA) and type B (ETB) receptor. The contractile ETA receptor is localized on smooth muscle cells in the vascular wall, while the ETB receptors are mainly situated on endothelial cells, mediating vasodilatation. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Neuropeptide Y - aspects of vasomotorresponses and receptor characterization

    Sammanfattning : Abstract The aims of the present thesis were to examine neuropeptide Y (NPY) responses in different human and guinea pig vascular beds and in cultured human vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) and to characterize, with different NPY agonists and the specific NPY Y1 receptor antagonist (BIBP3226), the NPY receptors involved. NPY-induced strong and potent contractions in human cerebral and subcutaneous arteries and in guinea pig basilar arteries. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Evaluating Swedish soldiers’ physiological demands in combat

    Författare :Jonas Larsson; Malmö Klinisk fysiologi och nuklearmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; work demands; aerobic capacity; body armor; soldiers; physical employment standards;

    Sammanfattning : Att vara soldat är väldigt fysiskt krävande, det viktigt att upprätthålla en god fysisk kapacitetsnivå för att klara sin tjänst. Vid militära operationer arbetar soldater på lägre fysiska kravnivåer under lång tid för att ibland gå upp på intensiva kravnivåer. LÄS MER
