  1. 1. Hydrogeochemical effects of hydropower regulation on river-aquifer continuum in boreal rivers

    Författare :Dmytro Siergieiev; Hjalmar Laudon; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geochemistry; hyporheic zone; hydrology; riparian zone; Element transport; Lule River; Kalix RIver; Northern Sweden; Earth sciences; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hydropower infrastructure affects many large rivers worldwide, threatening riverine and coastal ecosystems by fragmenting flow, disturbing landscapes and water retention and altering sedimentation and primary production. This thesis investigated major impacts of hydropower regulation on hydrological and geochemical processes in large boreal rivers. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Skog för export : skogsarbete, teknik och försörjning i Lule älvdal 1870-1970

    Författare :Nils-Gustav Lundgren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Forestry work; technology; determination of income; regional economics;

    Sammanfattning : The forestry industry played an important role in the industrialization of the Swedish economy in the late 19th century. The aim of this study is to deed with the determination of income and wages in the forestry regions where the sawmills and pulp industries found their raw material supplies. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Impact of hydropower regulation on river water geochemistry and hyporheic exchange

    Författare :Dmytro Siergieiev; Hjalmar Laudon; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; regulated river; hyporheic zone; hydraulic conductivity; clogging layer; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hydropower regulation of rivers exhibits a threat to the riverine ecosystems. Fragmentation of flow, landscape disturbances, and water retention are key features of regulated catchments, resulting in reduced floods and geochemical tr¬ansport, non-natural water level fluctuations, and thus disturbed exchange between the river and the aquifer. 4. 4. Comparison of the geochemistry of the regulated Lule River and the unregulated Kalix River, Northern Sweden

    Författare :Magali Collomp; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hydropower production in Sweden represents nearly 50% of the total electricity production in Sweden. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of stream regulation on the geochemistry of the Lule River, northern Sweden, which is the largest and the most important river for waterpower production in Sweden. 5. 5. Geochemistry of the Lule River, northern Sweden, before and after regulation

    Författare :Lisbeth Drugge; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : The Lule River is the largest and most important river for hydropower production in Sweden. This river, situated in the northern part of the country, has been regulated since the beginning of the 20th century and is heavily regulated with 15 power stations. LÄS MER
