21. Mechanical Analysis of Lubrication and Lubricants
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises three different topics within the field of tribology. First, design functions for analyses of slider bearings are developed. Second, a lubricant model applied to elastohydrodynamically lubricated (EHL) line contacts considering wall-slip is presented. LÄS MER
22. Wear reduction performance of rail flange lubrication
Sammanfattning : Rail and rail wheel flange wear on the rail track has been a problem of attention for the last 30 years. The problems arise in curves and depend on increased traffic volume, heavier axle load and also higher speed. Axle loads of 22,5-25 ton is common nowadays and the trend is towards heavier axle loads where the next step is 30-35 ton. LÄS MER
23. Lubrication of sliding bearings for hydropower applications
Sammanfattning : The term "sliding bearing" refers to types of bearing where two conformal surfaces (usually the stationary bearing and a moving shaft) slide relative to one another with load distributed directly across the interface. A suitable lubricant may be employed to reduce the friction between these two surfaces. LÄS MER
24. Elastohydrodynamic lubrication and lubricant rheology in refrigeration compressors
Sammanfattning : The introductory chapter gives a general description of the lubrication of rolling element bearings in refrigeration compressors and rheological properties of oil-refrigerant mixtures. The influence of refrigerants on the viscosity, pressure-viscosity coefficient and film forming ability in a EHD-contact is described. LÄS MER
25. EAL's boundary lubrication performance in hydro power plants
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis concerns the possibility to change mineral based hydraulic fluid to environmentally adapted lubricants (EAL's) in water turbine applications from the point of view of boundary lubrication. A new test rig was designed to meet the conditions for a slow and/or intermittent motion journal bearing. LÄS MER
