  1. 1. Activity and participation long term after stroke

    Författare :Anna Norlander; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Assessment instruments; ICF; Leisure activities; Long-term; Participation; Predictors; Rehabilitation; Social activities; Stroke; Qualitative Research;

    Sammanfattning : Background and aim: As an increasing number of people are living and ageing with the consequences ofstroke, the rehabilitation and support provided for this group needs to have a long-term perspective. Moreover,to prevent long-term activity limitations and participation restrictions after stroke, increased knowledge is neededregarding how engagement in different types of activities develops beyond the first years of recovery andadaptation. 2. 2. Make the Future a Part of Today : Awaken Long-term Thinking in Quality Management Practices

    Författare :Anna Mårtensson; Pernilla Ingelsson; Kristen Snyder; Peter Cronemyr; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Long-term thinking; future; quality management; sustainable development; leader; leadership; culture;

    Sammanfattning : Individuals and organisations need to consider the future since actions taken today will have implications for the future. Long-term thinking as a concept encompasses consideration of the future and is identified in both quality management and sustainable development. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Long-term development of subalpine lakes : effects of nutrients, climate and hydrological variability as assessed by biological and geochemical sediment proxies

    Författare :Manuela Milan; Christian Bigler; Monica Tolotti; Richard Bindler; Krystyna Szeroczyńska; Atte Korhola; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Paleolimnology; diatoms; Cladocera; sub-fossil pigments; geochemistry; wavelengthdispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy; Lake Garda; Lake Ledro; reference conditions; nutrient enrichment; climate change; hydrological regime.;

    Sammanfattning : Sediment records of two Italian subalpine lakes (Lake Garda and Lake Ledro) were analyzed in order to reconstruct their ecological evolution over the past several hundred years. A multi-proxy and multi-site approach was applied in order to disentangle the effects of local anthropogenic forcings, such as nutrients, and climate impacts on the two lakes and their catchments. 4. 4. Long-term perspectives on musculoskeletal pain : Health care utilization and integration of behavioral medicine treatment into physical therapy

    Författare :Christina Emilson; Pernilla Åsenlöf; Ingrid Demmelmaier; Stefan Bergman; Ida Flink; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chronic pain; health care utilization; behavioral medicine; stratified treatment; prognostic factors; physical therapy; primary care; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : There are currently no effective methods for treating and preventing chronic pain. The aim of this thesis was to study prognostic factors for health care utilization, and the long-term outcomes of tailored behavioral medicine treatment for patients with musculoskeletal pain. 5. 5. Predicting the Long-Term Insulation Performance of District Heating Pipes

    Författare :Camilla Persson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; heat conduction; polyurethane foam; insulation capacity; diffusion; thermal conductivity; cyclopentane; solubility coefficient; long-term performance;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the studies that comprise this thesis was to predict the heat loss over timefrom a range of district heating pipes insulated with closed-cells foam. The thermalconductivity of the foam changes over time when it is not diffusion-tight encapsulatedagainst the environment, as diffusion alters the cell gas composition until it reachesequilibrium with the surrounding air.
