11. Towards better practices in detection of wastewater pollution in stormwater sewers and volume estimation of SSO discharges
Sammanfattning : Separate sewerage systems are designed so that the wastewater and stormwater are carried separately. However, in practice, untreated wastewater discharges to receiving waters are not that rare, impairing the quality of the receiving waters and increasing the risks to public health and aquatic organisms. 12. Stochastic Models Involving Second Order Lévy Motions
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on five papers (A-E) treating estimation methods for unbounded densities, random fields generated by Lévy processes, behavior of Lévy processes at level crossings, and a Markov random field mixtures of multivariate Gaussian fields. In Paper A we propose an estimator of the location parameter for a density that is unbounded at the mode. LÄS MER
13. Heuristic optimization of the p-median problem and population re-distribution
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to the heuristic optimization of the p-median problem and Swedish population redistribution. The p-median model is the most representative model in the location analysis. LÄS MER
14. Exploiting Sparse Structures in Source Localization and Tracking
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the modeling of structured signals under different sparsity constraints. Many phenomena exhibit an inherent structure that may be exploited when setting up models, examples include audio waves, radar, sonar, and image objects. LÄS MER
15. Synthetic Aperture Radar Signal and Image Processing for Moving Target Indication and Side Lobe Suppression
Sammanfattning : The thesis summarizes a selection of my research within Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). Mainly the research is aimed at applying and developing signal processing methods to single channel and multi channel SAR for wideband systems. SAR systems can generate images looking very similar to optical pictures, i.e. LÄS MER
