  1. 1. Liquid crystalline polymers for nonlinear optics : pyroelectric polymers and ferroelectric dendrimers

    Författare :Jonas Örtegren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with liquid crystalline materialsincluding monomers, side-chain polymers, crosslinked polymers,and dendrimers. The materials are pyroelectric, meaning thatthere is a macroscopic electric polarization in the material,which is energetically stable in the absence of externalfields. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Devlopment and relaxation of orientation in liquid crystalline polymers : transport properties of liquid crystalline polymer blends

    Författare :Göran Wiberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis different types of liquid crystallinepolymers have been investigated with respect to build up andrelaxation of orientation. The potential of making new barriermaterials using liquid crystalline polymer blends was alsostudied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. New Strategies for Preparing Polymers with Hierarchical Architectures

    Författare :Natacha Ndizeye; Ian A. Nicholls; Alessandra Maria Bossi; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Liquid crystalline media; molecularly imprinted polymers; non-ionic deep eutectic solvents; quartz crystal microbalance; Organic Chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to explore novel approaches for controlling morphologies and molecular recognition behaviour of polymers and to use these strategies in conjunction with the molecular imprinting technique in order to either enhance polymer performance in quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor applications, or as an alternative to conventional solvents of polymerization. In Papers I and II, the use of liquid crystalline media in the synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers was demonstrated. LÄS MER
