  1. 1. Industrial Bioprocess Developments for Biogas and Ethanol Production

    Författare :Karthik Rajendran; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biogas; ethanol; process design; techno-economic analysis; simulation; modeling; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Sammanfattning : Current biofuels face a noteworthy misfortune on commercialization because of its economiccomparison with low-cost fuel from the oil reserves. To compete with gasoline as a fuel, thebiofuels need to be economically feasible and demonstrated on a large-scale. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis is to improve the understanding of if, and how, we can combat climate change and other non-wanted environmental changes alongside economic development. Paper I address this question by investigating the relationship between CO2 emissions and GDP per capita. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Utilizing CO2 from biomethane production : Sustainability and climate performance

    Författare :Stephanie S. Cordova; Mats Eklund; Marcus Gustafsson; Niclas Svensson; Valentina Bisinella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomethane; Carbon capture and utilization; CCU; CO₂ utilization;

    Sammanfattning : Biogas solutions offer many benefits for the environment and society, including organic waste treatment as well as being an enabler for energy and nutrient recovery. The products of anaerobic digestion are a biogas, which contains a share of 30 to 50% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 50 to 70% methane, and a liquid remanent, rich in nutrients. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Urbanization is a global phenomenon, happening on a massive scale and at a rapid rate, with 68% of the planet’s population predicted to be living in cities by 2050 (UN-DESA, 2018). The sustainability of a city (Goal 11 of UN SDGs) undergoing rapid urbanization depends on its ability to maintain a low consumption of resources and materials at any given time (referred to as the urban metabolic rate), whilst simultaneously providing essential municipal services to its inhabitants, such as a water supply, wastewater treatment and solid waste management.
