  1. 21. Influence of the fatty acid pattern on the drying of linseed oils

    Författare :Cecilia Stenberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The interest in renewable resources due to environmentalfactors has increased the interest to use new VOC-free linseedoil qualities together with reactive diluents for coatingapplications. The drying of two linseed oils, oilAwith a high content (74,2 %) of linoleic acid (C18:2)and oilB, a more traditional linseed oil with a high amount(55,2-60,4 %) of linolenic acid (C18:3), was followed in orderto reveal how the structural variations of the oils fatty acidpattern and the addition of the fatty acid methyl ester of oilAas a reactive diluent (0, 20 40 wt%) can change thedrying performances of the oils and their final filmproperties. 3. 23. Role of Fatty Acid Composition in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: a Dietary Perspective : Results from Interventional and Observational Studies

    Författare :Michael Fridén; Ulf Risérus; Fredrik Rosqvist; Helen Lindqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fatty acids; Diet; Biomarkers; NAFLD; Liver fat; Fibrosis; Cirrhosis; HCC; Nutrition; Nutrition;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this doctoral thesis was to investigate the role of circulating, liver and dietary fatty acids in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). For circulating and liver fatty acids, special emphasis was given to fatty acids reflecting diet. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Early dietary exposure is associated with allergy development in the FARMFLORA birth cohort

    Författare :Karin Jonsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Breast milk; Allergy; Introduction of solids; Early life nutrition; Farm children; Dietary pattern; Serum; Dairy farm; Atopy; Fatty acid composition;

    Sammanfattning : The allergy prevalence is markedly low in children growing up on farms. Contact with livestock and consumption of unpasteurized milk has been associated with allergy protection, although other elements in the environment may contribute. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Placental LPL and glucose metabolism in complicated pregnancies

    Författare :AnneLiese Magnusson-Olsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :placenta; intrauterine growth restriction; insulin dependent diabetes mellitus; lipoprotein lipase; fatty acids; fatty acid binding proteins; cytotrophoblasts;

    Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND: Pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) or diabetes are associated with alterations in both lipid and glucose metabolism, which may lead to long lasting metabolic disturbances in the fetus and susceptibility for developing metabolic syndrome in postnatal life. Glucose is the major energy source for both the fetus and placenta. LÄS MER
