16. Characterization and Energy Calibration of a Silicon-Strip Detector for Photon-Counting Spectral Computed Tomography
Sammanfattning : Multibin photon-counting x-ray detectors are promising candidates to be applied in next generation computed tomography (CT), whereby energy information from a broad x-ray spectrum can be extracted and properly used for improving image quality and correspondingly reducing radiation dose. A silicon-strip detector has been developed for spectral CT, which operates in photon-counting mode and allows pulse-height discrimination with 8 adjustable energy bins. LÄS MER
17. Spectrally Efficient Continuous Phase Modulation
Sammanfattning : Spectrally efficient continuous phase modulation (CPM) systems and generalizations of CPM for wireless links are considered. Continuous phase modulation defines constant envelope phase codes, which are advantageous when using non-linear amplifiers. LÄS MER
18. A measurement approach to determination of coating thickness with eddy currents and to a capacitive person detector for robot safety
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis is about coating thickness measurements using eddy currents, and a capacitive detector for detecting humans, for safety in industry.A method for determination of coating thickness of a copper-plated steel wire by measurement of the internal wire impedance, when this is forced by a constant, sinusoidal current, is presented. 19. On Fault Detection, Diagnosis and Monitoring for Induction Motors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, multiple methods and different approaches have been established and evaluated successfully, in order to detect and diagnose the faults of induction motors (IMs). The aim of this thesis is to present novel fault detection and isolation methods for the case of induction machines that would have the merit to be implemented online and being characterized by specific novel capabilities, when compared with the existing techniques. 20. Laser Sheet Imaging and Image Analysis for Combustion Research
Sammanfattning : This Thesis presents techniques that aim at exploiting the potential of image analysis and processing in order to solve problems of data reduction, interpolation, quantification, and interpretation within the field of experimental laser imaging of combustion processes. Combustion is the most important source of energy for power generation, heating, and transportation in the world today and its strong dominance is projected to continue in the foreseeable future.
