  1. 1. Poly (butylene succinate) and poly (butylene adipate) : quantitative determination of degradation products and application as PVC plasticizers

    Författare :Annika Lindström; Minna Hakkarainen; Ann-Christine Albertsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; solid phase extraction; degradation products; poly butylene succinate ; poly butylene adipate ; GC-MS; PVC; plasticizer; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : A solid phase extraction (SPE) method was developed for simultaneous extraction of dicarboxylic acids and diols formed during hydrolysis of poly(butylene succinate), PBS, and poly(butylene adipate), PBA. The developed SPE method and subsequent GC-MS analysis were used to extract, identify and quantify low molecular weight products migrating from linear and branched poly(butylene adipate) (PBA) and poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) during aging in aqueous media. 2. 2. Environmentally Friendly Plasticizers for PVC : Improved Material Properties and Long-term Performance Through Plasticizer Design

    Författare :Annika Lindström; Minna Hakkaraninen; Anders Södergård; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; poly butylene adipate ; poly vinyl chloride ; plasticizers; miscibility; mechanical properties; surface segregation; migration; degradation products; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Linear and branched poly(butylene adipate) polyesters with number-average molecular weights ranging from 700 to 10 000 g/mol, and degrees of branching ranging from very low to hyperbranched were solution cast with PVC to study the effects of chemical structure, molecular weight, end-group functionality, and chain architecture on plasticizing efficiency and durability. Miscibility was evaluated by the existence of a single glass transition temperature and a shift of the carbonyl group absorption band. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Prognostic factors for squamous cell cervical cancer : tumor markers, hormones, smoking, and S-phase fraction

    Författare :Annika Lindström; Dan Hellberg; Roger Henriksson; Ulf Stendahl; Sonia Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Cervical cancer; squamous cell carcinoma; sex steroid hormones; smoking; S-phase fraction; tumor markers; LRIG1; prognosis.; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer is the second most common malignancy in women worldwide and one of the leading causes of cancer mortality globally. In patients with invasive cervical cancer prognostic factors are of value for the choice of treatment, monitoring of treatment and follow-up. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Screening and Assessment of Distress, Anxiety, and Depression in Cancer Patients

    Författare :Annika Thalén-Lindström; Birgitta Johansson; Bengt Glimelius; Pernilla Lagergren; Uppsala universitet; []

    Författare :Annika Carlson; Rakel Lindström; Göran Lindbergh; Carina Lagergren; Mohamed Mamlouk; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fuel cell; anion exchange membrane; proton exchange membrane; electrode morphology; hydrogen oxidation reaction; water transport; poly phenylene oxide ; cellulose; bränslecell; anjonledande membran; protonledande membran; elektrodstruktur; vätgasoxidation; vattentransport; poly fenylenoxid ; cellulosa; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Fuel cells, using hydrogen as energy carrier, allow chemically‑stored energy to be utilized for many applications, including balancing the electrical grid and the propulsion of vehicles. To make the fuel cell technology more accessible and promote a sustainable energy society, this thesis focuses on alternative polymer electrolytes, as they can potentially lead to a lower cost and a more environmentally‑friendly fuel cell.
