  1. 1. Exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) and Metabolic Disruption

    Författare :Linda Dunder; Monica Lind; Margareta Halin Lejonklou; Lars Lind; Anna-Maria Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bisphenol A BPA ; Endocrine disrupting chemicals EDCs ; Developmental exposure; Metabolic disruption; Adipose tissue; Fatty acids; Insulin secretion; Experimental rat study; Epidemiology; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Metbolic disorders such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, liver lipid disorders and metabolic syndrome are increasing rapidly and have largely been attributed to genetic background and changes in diet, exercise and aging. However, there is now considerable evidence showing that other environmental factors, including environmental chemicals, may contribute to the rapid increase in the incidence of these metabolic diseases. 2. 2. Environmental Contaminants and Obesity

    Författare :Monika Rönn; P. Monica Lind; Lars Lind; Jan Örberg; Merete Eggesbø; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Fischer 344; rat; obesity; adipose tissue; persistent organic pollutants; POPs; bisphenol A; BPA; pesticides; dioxin; PCB; DDT; apo A-I; adiponectin; leptin; ghrelin;

    Sammanfattning : Obesity is a worldwide problem affecting both children and adults. Genetic, physiological, environmental, psychological, social and economic factors interact in varying degrees, influencing body weight and fat distribution and the progress of obesity. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Jenny Lind : röstens betydelse för hennes mediala identitet, en studie av hennes konstnärsskap 1838-49

    Författare :Ingela Tägil; Christer Bouij; Ulrik Volgsten; Göran Gademan; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Jenny Lind; voice; nineteenth century vocal technique; vocal technique; femininity symbol; gender-stereotype; Virgin Mary-symbol; Musikvetenskap; Musicology;

    Sammanfattning : Jenny Lind was an opera singer in the years 1838–49. During this time she was given the status f an icon mainly due to her image. She was almost sanctified by the press. Her “private personality” was assigned a saintly purity, and she became a stereotype symbol of femininity. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Tunneling Based Electronic Devices

    Författare :Erik Lind; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SiGe; Esaki Diodes; classical mechanics; quantum mechanics; relativity; termodynamik; relativitet; kvantmekanik; statistisk fysik; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; thermodynamics; gravitation; statistical physics; GaAs; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; Resonant Tunneling Permeable Base Transistors; Resonant Tunneling Diodes; klassisk mekanik; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Lind;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns different kinds of tunneling based devices all showing negative differential resistance. The thesis is divided in three parts, resonant tunneling transistors, Esaki diodes and coupled zero dimensional systems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. MRI Perfusion Measurements using Magnetic Susceptibility Effects: : Calibration Approaches and Contrast Agent Quantification

    Författare :Emelie Lind; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; contrast agent; cerebral blood flow; cerebral blood volume; mean transit time; perfusion; dynamic susceptibility contrast MRI; magnetic susceptibility;

    Sammanfattning : Exchange of oxygen and nutrients between blood and tissue occurs at the capillary level of the blood system. The blood volume flow rate in the capillaries is often referred to as perfusion, and knowledge about perfusion provides important information about the function and viability of the tissue, for example, in patients with ischaemic stroke, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.
