  2. 2. Likelihood-Based Tests for Common and Idiosyncratic Unit Roots in the Exact Factor Model

    Författare :Martin Solberger; Rolf Larsson; Johan Lyhagen; Jean-Pieree Urbain; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :panel unit root; dynamic factors; maximum likelihood; Lagrange multiplier; likelihood ratio; factor analysis; Statistics; Statistik;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamic panel data models are widely used by econometricians to study over time the economics of, for example, people, firms, regions, or countries, by pooling information over the cross-section. Though much of the panel research concerns inference in stationary models, macroeconomic data such as GDP, prices, and interest rates are typically trending over time and require in one way or another a nonstationary analysis. 3. 3. Physical activity, participation and self-rated health among older community-dwelling Icelanders : a population-based study

    Författare :Solveig Arnadottir; Lillemor Lundin-Olsson; Elin Dianna Gunnarsdottir; Gunnevi Sundelin; Alan M Jette; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aging; older people; physical activity; participation; self-rated health; balance confidence; rural; urban; residence; International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health ICF ; Rasch measurement; standardized assessment; Physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik fysioterapi; sjukgymnastik; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The main objective of this study was to investigate older people’s physical activity, their participation in various life situations, and their perceptions of their own health. This included an exploration of potential influences of urban versus rural residency on these outcomes, an evaluation of the measurement properties of a balance confidence scale, and an examination of the proposed usefulness of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) as a conceptual framework to facilitate analysis and understanding of selected outcomes. 4. 4. Likelihood-Based Panel Unit Root Tests for Factor Models

    Författare :Xingwu Zhou; Johan Lyhagen; Joakim Westerlund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Panel unit root; Exact factor model; Dynamic factor model; Maximum likelihood; Principal components; Lagrange multiplier;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of four papers that address likelihood-based unit root tests for panel data with cross-sectional dependence arising from common factors.In the first three papers, we derive Lagrange multiplier (LM)-type tests for common and idiosyncratic unit roots in the exact factor models based on the likelihood function of the differenced data.     Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nonlinear mixed-effects models; pharmacometrics; likelihood ratio test; NONMEM; power; sample size; study design; proof-of-concept; dose-finding; population optimal design; LOQ; BQL data; neutropenia; docetaxel; myelosuppression; thrombocytopenia; MTD; Bayesian methods; 3 3 algorithm; dose escalation study; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : General attrition rates in drug development pipeline have been recognized as a necessity to shift gears towards new methodologies that allow earlier and correct decisions, and the optimal use of all information accrued throughout the process. The quantitative science of pharmacometrics using pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models was identified as one of the strategies core to this renaissance. LÄS MER
