6. Sustainable Surface Functionalization of Lightweight Materials : Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles Replacing Chromium in Anodic Coatings and Carbon Nanomaterials for Lightning Strike Protection
Sammanfattning : Aviation accounts for 2-3% of the carbon dioxide emitted globally. One way to reduce emissions is to develop and introduce sustainable, functional, lightweight materials and coatings that increase the lifetime and fuel efficiency of aircraft. LÄS MER
7. Analysis of High-Frequency Electrical Transients in Offshore Wind Parks
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, a study of high frequency electromagnetic transient phenomena is performed. Models of various components needed for simulations of high frequency transients, such as transformers, cables and breakers are developed. LÄS MER

9. Generalized Vandermonde matrices and determinants in electromagnetic compatibility
Sammanfattning : Matrices whose rows (or columns) consists of monomials of sequential powers are called Vandermonde matrices and can be used to describe several useful concepts and have properties that can be helpful for solving many kinds of problems. In this thesis we will discuss this matrix and some of its properties as well as a generalization of it and how it can be applied to curve fitting discharge current for the purpose of ensuring electromagnetic compatibility. 10. Numerical Modelling of Transients in Electrical Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the numerical modelling of the response of electrical systems to transient surge voltages and currents caused by lightning. Electrical systems, when subjected to high amplitude transients behave in ways very different from its behaviour under normal operating conditions. LÄS MER
