    Författare :Jonas Pettersson; Charlotte Platzer-Björkman; Marika Edoff; Marc Burgelman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CIGS; Thin film solar cells; Electrical modelling; Alternative buffer layers; Gallium gradients; Simulations; Electrical characterization; Metastabilities; Light-soaking; Hall measurements; Persistent photoconductivity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : A deeper understanding of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells is important for the further improvement of these devices. This thesis is focused on the use of electrical modelling as a tool for pursuing this aim. Finished devices and individual layers are characterized and the acquired data are used as input in the simulations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. From Light to Dark : Electrical Phenomena in Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells

    Författare :Piotr Szaniawski; Marika Edoff; Uwe Zimmermann; Jörgen Olsson; Thomas Walter; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar cells; Photovoltaics; Cu InGa Se2; CIGS; Electrical characterization; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektronik; Engineering Science with specialization in Electronics;

    Sammanfattning : In Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cells the CIGS layer serves as the light absorber, growing naturally p-type. Together with an n-type buffer layer they form a p-n heterojunction. Typically, CdS is used as a buffer, although other, less toxic materials are investigated as alternatives. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cadmium Free Buffer Layers and the Influence of their Material Properties on the Performance of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells

    Författare :Adam Hultqvist; Charlotte Platzer-Björkman; Tobias Törndahl; Marika Edoff; Takashi Minemoto; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : CdS is conventionally used as a buffer layer in Cu(In,Ga)Se2, CIGS, solar cells. The aim of this thesis is to substitute CdS with cadmium-free, more transparent and environmentally benign alternative buffer layers and to analyze how the material properties of alternative layers affect the solar cell performance. 4. 4. Hole Transport Materials for Solid-State Mesoscopic Solar Cells

    Författare :Lei Yang; Anders Hagfeldt; Erik Johansson; Gerrit Boschloo; Fengling Zhang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mesoscopic solar cells; solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells; organometallic halide perovskite; hole transport materials; mesoporous TiO2; conjugated polymer; sensitizer; transient absorption spectroscopy; photo-induced absorption spectroscopy; in-situ photoelectrochemical polymerization; spiro-OMeTAD; P3HT; TPAA; MeO-TPD; bis-EDOT; DEH; Li ion migration; charge recombination; electron lifetime;

    Sammanfattning : The solid-state mesoscopic solar cells (sMSCs) have been developed as a promising alternative technology to the conventional photovoltaics. However, the device performance suffers from the low hole-mobilities and the incomplete pore filling of the hole transport materials (HTMs) into the mesoporous electrodes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Liquid Redox Electrolytes for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

    Författare :Ze Yu; Lars Kloo; Md K Nazeeruddin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dye-sensitized solar cells; electrolytes; ionic liquids; redox couples; additives;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on liquid redox electrolytes in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). A liquid redox electrolyte, as one of the key constituents in DSCs, typically consists of a redox mediator, additives and a solvent. LÄS MER
