1. On 13q14 deletions in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Sammanfattning : Malignant tumors arise as a consequence of a multistep process where an accumulation of genetic and epigenetic changes drives the transformation of normal cells into tumor cells. The identification and characterization of genes targeted by these alterations is of crucial importance for an increased understanding of the biology of cancer. LÄS MER

4. Numerical Studies of Extragalactic Objects. Analysis of mmVLBI Observations and Simulations of Barred Spiral Galaxies
Sammanfattning : Numerical studies related to high-frequency VLBI observations of quasars and dynamics of barred spiral galaxies have been performed. Data from a global 100 GHz VLBI experiment has been reduced and a radio image of the quasar 3C 446 with the highest resolution achieved to date has been produced. LÄS MER
5. Cellular mechanisms involved in bone resorption
Sammanfattning : The effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH), prostaglandins (PGE1, PGE2, PGF2a), cAMP, cAMP-analogues, phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors and la (OH) D3 on bone resorption and associated cellular process have been studied in a bone organ culture system using half- calvaria from 6-7 day-old mice. Bone resorption was assessed by determining the release of calcium (Ca2+), inorganic phosphate (Pi) and 45Ca from the calvarial bones to the culture media. LÄS MER
