  1. 1. När lögnare blir lugnare : En sociofonetisk studie av sammanfallet mellan kort ö och kort u i uppländskan

    Författare :Lena Wenner; Mats Thelander; Jan-Ola Östman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; sociophonetics; sound change; perception; vowel; phoneme merger; phonetics; dialectology; Uppland Swedish; Swedish; sociofonetik; ljudförändring; perception; vokal; fonemsammanfall; fonetik; dialektologi; uppländska; svenska; Swedish language; Svenska språket; Nordiska språk; Scandinavian Languages;

    Sammanfattning : The phenomenon of an ongoing sound change leads in some cases to the pronunciation of short ö becoming more like that of short u. This thesis examines the relationship between short ö and u in Uppland Swedish. The localities included in the investigation were Uppsala, Norrtälje, Östervåla and Gräsö. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Guardians of the genome : Connecting chromatin structure and genome integrity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    Författare :Stefanie Lena Bauer; Stefan U. Åström; Brian Luke; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Branched DNA structures arise during recombination and during other DNA repair processes such as repair of stalled replication forks. One branched structure, the Holliday Junction (HJ), is a four-way junction that can connect sister chromatids or homologous chromosomes. We show a physical interaction between the HJ-cleaving enzyme Yen1 and Uls1. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The role of non-coding single-stranded oligonucleotides on Respiratory syncytial virus infection

    Författare :Sandra Axberg Pålsson; Anna-Lena Spetz; Annika Karlsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Respiratory syncytial virus RSV ; single-stranded oligonucleotide ssON ; small non-coding RNA sncRNA ; nucleolin; virus infection; antiviral; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an enveloped RNA virus of the Pneumoviridae family. RSV is reported to infect host cells by receptor-mediated endocytosis, also called clathrin-dependent endocytosis. Many reports indicate that the virus utilizes the host receptor nucleolin for entry. 4. 4. Harnessing the immunoregulatory capacity of single-stranded oligonucleotides to modulate innate immunity

    Författare :Aleksandra Dondalska; Anna-Lena Spetz; Jenny Hallgren Martinsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; single-stranded oligonucleotides; Toll-like receptors; influenza; respiratory syncytial virus; dendritic cell; mast cell; virus infection; inflammation; itch; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : As the first line of defense, the innate immune system is exceptionally efficacious against invading pathogens but must be tightly regulated to avoid immune-related pathogenesis. Accordingly, the innate immune system recognizes highly conserved components associated with infections and damaged cells using a limited number of pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs), which are differentially expressed across cell types.
