11. Prevention and prognosis of cervical cancer : the interplay of human papillomavirus, vaccination and screening
Sammanfattning : Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the major cause of cervical cancer. The well-established natural history from HPV infection to the occurrence of invasive cervical cancer serves as the basis for prevention of cervical cancer through prophylactic HPV vaccination (primary prevention) and cervical screening (secondary prevention). 12. A study of wireless communications with reinforcement learning
Sammanfattning : The explosive proliferation of mobile users and wireless data traffic in recent years pose imminent challenges upon wireless system design. The trendfor wireless communications becoming more complicated, decentralized andintelligent is inevitable. LÄS MER
13. Articular and epiphyseal cartilage : its formation, maintenance and repair
Sammanfattning : Long bones develop via a series of ordered processes, initiated from mesenchymal stem cell condensation, cartilage anlagen formation, followed by central cell hypertrophy and vascular invasion and the finalized by the formation of primary and secondary ossification centers (SOC), where the latter is also called endochondral ossification. As long bone develops, it can be distinguished in to several morphologically distinct parts: the main shaft of a long bone, called diaphysis; a narrow disc of growth plate, providing a continuous supply of chondrocytes for longitudinal growth; a thin layer of articular cartilage at the ends of epiphysis, supporting joint movement, and a SOC, sandwiched between the two pieces of cartilage. 14. Alterations in activity and specificity of intracellular proteolysis in disease pathogenesis
Sammanfattning : The ubiquitin-proteasome pathway (UPP) plays a fundamental role in many basic cellular processes. Virtually all events in cellular physiology include control by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Ubiquitinated substrates are degraded by the 26S proteasome, a large multicatalytic protease complex. 15. A fibrinogen-binding protein from Staphylococcus epidermidis
Sammanfattning : Staphylococcus epidermidis, a coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS), is a major component of human flora. It is one of the leading pathogens of nosocomial infections, particularly associated with foreign body infections. LÄS MER
