1. Unstable coronary artery disease : non-invasive indicators of severity of coronary lesions and the effects of thrombolysis
Sammanfattning : Non-invasive indicators of severity of coronary lesions and the effects of thrombolysis were evaluated in 205 men, 38 to 70 years of age with unstable coronary aticty disease (CAD)- i.e. unstable angina or non-Q wave myocardial infarction - admitted to the coronary care units in nine hospitals. 2. Surgical treatment of left main coronary artery stenosis
Sammanfattning : Clinical experience and follow-up of patients operated on with surgical arterial patch angioplasty of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) and observational retrospective studies in patients with LMCA obstruction who had undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) are reported. Patients: Forty-three patients were operated on with LMCA angioplasty during 1997 - 2003. LÄS MER
3. Clinically-driven angiography after coronary artery bypass surgery : Results from the SWEDEHEART registry
Sammanfattning : The success of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) arguably depends on the patency rate of the conduits. The saphenous vein grafts (SVGs) most often used are subject to graft disease and their reduced long-term patency compared to left internal mammary artery (IMA) grafts is well established. LÄS MER
4. Acute coronary syndromes. The prognostic importance of hypertension, diabetes and vectorcardiographic markers
Sammanfattning : Research questions: 1 Is hypertension and diabetes associated with the future risk of death, and recurrent manifestations of cardiovascular disease in acute coronary syndromes (ACS)? 2 How does myocardial ischemia affect depolarization and repolarization of the heart during the early phase of an acute myocardial infarction? 3 What is the prognostic value of accepted vectorcardiographic markers in relation to future risk of sudden cardiac death after ACS? Methodology: Papers I, III and IV studied patients with ACS prospectively and consecutively included at the coronary care unit of Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Paper I deals with 2,329 patients who were followed for a median of 8 years. LÄS MER
5. On-line vectorcardiography during coronary angioplasty and unstable coronary artery disease
Sammanfattning : This thesis evaluates the usefulness of continuous vectorcardiography (VCG) in patients undergoing elective coronary angioplasty and in patients with unstable coronary artery disease (CAD), for detection and quantitation of myocardial ischemia and for identification of patients at risk of coronary events. The aims were to investigate, whether continuous on-line VCG: 1. LÄS MER
