1. On Drive Force Distribution and Road Vehicle Handling - A Study of Understeer and Lateral Grip
Sammanfattning : Computer controlled vehicle sub-systems aimed to support drivers in various drivingsituations are rapidly increasing in number and sophistication. These systemshave evolved from anti-lock braking and traction control systems, to electronic stabilitycontrol. LÄS MER
2. Experimental Measurement of Lateral Force in a Submerged Single Heaving Buoy Wave Energy Converter
Sammanfattning : The search for new solutions for the generation of energy is becoming more and more important for our future. Big arguments and disagreements on e.g. the questions of gas transport or the dependence on energy supplied by other countries raise demands on the development of new forms of alternative energy resources. 3. Force measurements using scanning probe microscopy : Applications to advanced powder processing
Sammanfattning : The object of this thesis is to apply scanning probemicroscopy (SPM) to the field of advanced powder processing.Measurement of interparticle surface forces at conditionsrelevant to ceramic processing has been performed together withthorough studies of powder friction. LÄS MER
4. Longitudinal Force Distribution and Road Vehicle Handling
Sammanfattning : The distribution of longitudinal forces has a large influence on vehicle handling characteristics such as the driver/vehicle interaction, road holding and yaw stability, in particular during combined traction/braking and cornering near the grip limit of the tires. In order to select and develop suitable driveline systems and associated active control that provide consistent driver/vehicle handling, maximum road holding and sufficient yaw stability margins, it is essential to understand the influence of a particular drive force distribution on these handling characteristics. 5. Microfluidic Cell and Particle Sorting using Deterministic Lateral Displacement
Sammanfattning : Microfluidics is a field which has the potential to revolutionize medical diagnostics. The ability to sort and analyse cells by the use of portable handheld devices has the potential to enable sensitive devices for point-of-care diagnostics. LÄS MER
