16. Late Weichselian and early Holocene shore displacement in the central Baltic, based on stratigraphical and morphological records from eastern Småland and Gotland, Sweden
Sammanfattning : The glacial unloading and resulting isostatic land uplift have together with hydro-isostasy, eustatic rise of sea-level and geoidal changes, ruled the shore displacement of Fennoscandia. Within the Baltic basin, periods of damming and shifts of outlet further complicated the shore displacement during the period studied, c. 12,200-8400 BP. LÄS MER
17. The Weichselian in southern Sweden and southwestern Baltic Sea : glacial stratigraphy, palaeoenvironments and deglaciation chronology
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the Weichselian glaciation history of southernmost Sweden and the southwestern Baltic Basin is discussed, with special emphasis on Middle and Late Weichselian ice advances and subsequent deglaciations. The main study area was Kriegers Flak in the southwestern Baltic Sea where pre-Late Weichselian sediments were identified. LÄS MER
18. Past dynamics of a marine-terminating glacier in lower Borgarfjörður, west Iceland - Analyses of glaciotectonic sediments and landforms
Sammanfattning : Large and complete sections through glacial landforms formed in subaqueous environments are rare, impeding our knowledge of their internal composition and the processes responsible for their formation. Following the last deglaciation of the Icelandic Ice Sheet (IIS), a marine-terminating outlet glacier advanced out of the fjord of Borgarfjörður resulting in large-scale glaciotectonic deformation of glaciomarine sediments. 19. Glacial dynamics and till genesis in hilly terrain : A study in the Tallträsk area, central-northern Sweden
Sammanfattning : This study deals with the influence of topography on glacial dynamics and the genesis of till in an area of moder-ate bedrock relief. An area 25 km west of Lycksele, northern Sweden, was investigated using geomorphological and sedimentological methods. LÄS MER
20. Glacial geology and palaeo-ice dynamics of two ice-sheet margins, Taymyr Peninsula, Siberia and Jameson Land, East Greenland
Sammanfattning : The North Taymyr ice-marginal zone (NTZ) on the Taymyr Peninsula, Arctic Siberia and the Ugleelv Valley on Jameson Land, East Greenland, have been investigated with the aim of reconstructing the glacial history, including depositional processes and environments. Geomorphological, sedimentological, stratigraphical and remote sensing methods have been combined to give a comprehensive view of developments in the two areas. LÄS MER
