  1. 6. Development and Application of Rotational Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy and Laser-induced Fluorescence for Combustion Diagnostics

    Författare :Christian Brackmann; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser-induced Fluorescence; Formaldehyde; Biofuel; Laser technology; Laserteknik; Energy research; Energiforskning; Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy; Combustion; Laser diagnostics; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Brackmann;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis concerns the development and application of two laser-based methods for combustion diagnostics: dual broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). In efforts to increase the usefulness of the CARS technique, the applicability of a method involving a combination of the rotational CARS technique and the closely related vibrational CARS technique was investigated. 2. 7. Laser Diagnostics for Applications to In-Cylinder Engine Investigations

    Författare :Robert Collin; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LII; Rayleigh scattering; formaldehyde; OH; soot; dimethyl ether; Laser technology; Fysik; Laserteknik; Physics; LIF; Laser diagnostics; combustion engines; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Collin;

    Sammanfattning : In the work presented in the thesis laser diagnostics was employed primarily in the investigation of engines, but was also used to study soot in flames. Quantitative measurements were performed for visualizing both in-cylinder soot formation and DME sprays in a combustion vessel. LÄS MER

  3. 8. In-Cylinder Fluid Flow, Fuel Preparation and Combustion in SI Engines - Application of Optical Diagnostics

    Författare :Martin Ekenberg; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laserteknik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; hydraulik; Maskinteknik; PIV; vibration and acoustic engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; Mechanical engineering; framdrivningssystem; Laser technology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis laser-based measurements of in-cylinder flow and fuel concentrations in two stroke and direct injected four-stroke engines are presented. The major problem with the carburetted two-stroke engine is the short-circuiting of fuel that occurs during the scavenging phase. This leads to large emissions of unburned hydrocarbons. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Development of a 2D Temperature Measurement Technique for Combustion Diagnostics using 2-Line Atomic Fluorescence

    Författare :Johan Engström; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser technology; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Electronics and Electrical technology; PLIF; LIF; temperature measurements; TLAF; Laser diagnostic; combustion; Laserteknik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is concerned with the development and application of a novel planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) technique for temperature measurements in a variety of combusting flows. Accurate measurement of temperature is an essential task in combustion diagnostics, since temperature is one of the most fundamental quantities for the characterization of combustion processes. 5. 10. Development of Time Resolved Laser Imaging Techniques for Studies of Turbulent Reacting Flows

    Författare :Johan Hult; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electronics and Electrical technology; Laserteknik; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Laser technology; Fysik; Physics; Three-dimensional; Laser Diagnostics; High speed; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Hult;

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis the development and application of a novel laser diagnostic system for high speed spectroscopic imaging of turbulent combustion phenomena is presented. The system is capable of recording sequences of up to 8 images with a separation between consecutive images as short as microseconds. LÄS MER
