    Sammanfattning : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. An important field of use of AS is the detection of species in trace concentrations, which has applications not only in physics and chemistry but also in biology and medicine, encompassing environmental monitoring, regulation of industrial processes and breath analysis. Here, we study the noise properties of frequency combs - a special class of frequency stabilized and mutually coherent multi-mode lasers, as well as the optical injection locking of comb tones as a means for low noise amplification and tone selection.
