  1. 16. Laser Diagnostic Techniques with Ultra-High Repetition Rate for Studies in Combustion Environments

    Författare :Jimmy Olofsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High-Speed; High Repetition Rate; LIF; PLIF; 3D Visualisation; Engine; Teknik; Technological sciences; Fysik; Physics; Combustion; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Laser Diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : When conducting laser based diagnostics in combustion environments it is often desirable to obtain temporally resolved information. This can be due to several factors such as combustion taking place in a turbulent flow field, flame propagation from a spark plug in an initially quiescent combustible mixture, or rapid, multi-point fuel consumption in a homogeneous charge as a result of compression ignition in an engine cycle. 2. 17. Development and Application of Rotational Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy and Laser-induced Fluorescence for Combustion Diagnostics

    Författare :Christian Brackmann; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser-induced Fluorescence; Formaldehyde; Biofuel; Laser technology; Laserteknik; Energy research; Energiforskning; Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy; Combustion; Laser diagnostics; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Brackmann;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis concerns the development and application of two laser-based methods for combustion diagnostics: dual broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). In efforts to increase the usefulness of the CARS technique, the applicability of a method involving a combination of the rotational CARS technique and the closely related vibrational CARS technique was investigated. Sammanfattning : The laser-induced incandescence technique (LII) is a laser-based diagnostic technique for measurements of soot volume fraction and particle size. The technique relies on detection of incandescent light from soot particles heated to around 4000 K using nanosecond laser pulses. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Laser-Induced Emission Techniques for Concentration and Temperature Probing in Combustion

    Författare :Gustaf Särner; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermographic phosphor; phosphor; phosphorescence; Laser Combustion Diagnostics; Laser-Spectroscopy; LIF; spectroscopy; Thermometry; LIP; Laser-Induced Fluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis is aimed at the development of temperature and gas concentration measurement techniques in laser diagnostics for use in combustion research. The techniques are developed as tools for the combustion community to meet future demands on combustion efficiency and legislation of exhaust gases. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Environmental Monitoring - using diode-laser-based spectroscopic techniques

    Författare :Gabriel Somesfalean; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diode-laser spectroscopy; frequency-modulation spectroscopy; frequency conversion; diffraction; scattering; Electromagnetism; acoustics; akustik; optik; absorption spectroscopy; Elektromagnetism; optics; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Somesfalean;

    Sammanfattning : Monitoring of environmental gases is necessary to understand the complex processes governing global warming and the impact of pollutant emissions related to human activity. Diode-laser-based spectroscopic techniques, being robust and affordable, have a great potential to become an industrially well-established technology for environmental sensing. LÄS MER
