  1. 11. Laser-based diagnostics for investigating soot formation in combustion processes

    Författare :MANU Mannazhi; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soot formation; Laser diagnostics; Combustion; Laser-induced Incandescence; Fysicumarkivet A2022:Mannazhi;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, laser-based diagnostic techniques were developed and applied to investigate soot formation in small-scale laboratory burners as well as in practical combustion devices. Quantitative 2D laser-induced incandescence (LII) measurements often use a cylindrical lens to shape the beam and illuminate the planar region of interest. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Towards Quantitative Diagnostics using Short-Pulse Laser Techniques

    Författare :Andreas Ehn; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PicoSecond Laser Diagnostics; Raman Scattering; Photo Fragmentation; Fluorescnece Lifetime Imaging; Temporal Filtering; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Ehn; LIDAR; Laser-Induced Fluorescence;

    Sammanfattning : Laser based diagnostic tools have had an exploding impact on fundamental as well as applied research in a number of disciplines, such as biomedicine, physical chemistry etc over the last decades. Whereas fundamental research often investigate phenomena in extreme conditions, applied research aims at performing in-situ measurements, in order to understand the many aspects and entangled phenomena that affects the research of interest. 3. 13. Infrared Laser-Induced Grating Techniques for Diagnostics in Reactive Flows

    Författare :Dina Hot; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser diagnostics; infrared; laser-induced grating spectroscopy; degenerate four-wave mixing; flames; temperature; concentration; Fysicumarkivet A:2020:Hot;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe work presented in this thesis is mainly focused on the development andapplication of infrared laser-induced grating techniques in order to measure the gasphase temperature and species concentrations in reactive flows. The two techniquesused for this purpose are laser-induced grating spectroscopy (LIGS) and degeneratefour-wave mixing (DFWM). LÄS MER

  4. 14. Optical Diagnostics of Non-thermal Plasmas and Plasma-assisted Combustion

    Författare :Jiajian Zhu; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High-speed photography; Laser diagnostics; Planar laser-induced fluorescence; Plasma-assisted combustion; Non-thermal plasmas; Gliding arc discharge; Optical diagnostics; Particle tracking velocimetry; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Zhu;

    Sammanfattning : Non-thermal plasma is regarded as a collection of free electrons, ions and neutral particles that are not at local thermodynamic equilibrium. The high-energetic electrons formed in non-thermal plasmas are capable of generating chemically active species and modifying chemical kinetics in practical applications. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Laser-Induced Incandescence for Soot Diagnostics: Theoretical Investigation and Experimental Development

    Författare :Jonathan Johnsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; premixed flat flames; fractal soot aggregates; laser-induced incandescence; soot; soot optical properties; soot absorption function; laser diagnostics; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Johnsson;

    Sammanfattning : Laser-induced incandescence, LII, is a laser-diagnostic technique that can be used to measure the volume fraction and the sizes of soot particles suspended in a gas, such as within a combustion process or in its exhausts. The technique is based on the facts that the time-decay of the radiation from laser-heated soot particles is directly related to the particle size in the probed volume, and that the time-integrated radiation is related to the soot volume fraction.
