1. Electronic Structure and Statistical Methods Applied to Nanomagnetism, Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors and Spintronics
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided in three parts. In the first part, a study of materials aimed for spintronics applications is presented. More specifically, calculations of the critical temperature in diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) and half-metallic ferromagnets are presented using a combination of electronic structure and statistical methods. 2. Projektsamtalets intersubjektivitet. Språkbruk och handlingsmöjligheter i byggprojekt
Sammanfattning : Against a background of projects carried out, the aim of this thesis is to investigate whatit is that regulates the project dialogue and how this can be described when applied tofacts and value assessments in the management of construction projects and the endusers’physical and perceived environments. This problem has partly involved testing astructure for describing concrete situations and partly investigating certain theoreticalprerequisites that can be assumed to exist in such a description. 3. The Role of Chlamydophila Pneumoniae in the Inflammatory Response and Expansion of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
Sammanfattning : Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a common disease that develops gradually over several years and is characterised by weakening and dilatation of the aortic wall. AAAs also demonstrates a marked inflammatory infiltrate throughout the aortic wall. Chlamydophila pneumoniae (C. pneumoniae), is a common bacterium. LÄS MER
4. Varicose Veins : Aspects on Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment
Sammanfattning : Treatment for varicose veins (VV) is insufficiently evidence based and recurrence rates are high. The aim of this thesis was to study the long-term results after VV surgery, risk factors for recurrences and the effect of preoperative duplex scanning on recurrence rate, quality of life (QoL) and costs. 5. On Renal Artery Stenosis
Sammanfattning : Renal artery stenosis (RAS) is a potentially curable cause of hypertension and azotemia. Besides intra-arterial renal angiography there are several non-invasive techniques utilized to diagnose patients with suspicion of renal artery stenosis. LÄS MER
