11. Excess pore water pressure generation in fine granular materials under cyclic loading -A laboratory study
Sammanfattning : Abstract Excess pore water pressure can be generated in subgrades of both railway and pavement sub-structures under cyclic loading caused by heavy traffic. When saturated subgrades are subjected to cyclic loading, excess pore water pressures accumulate over time which then could lead to migration of particles into overlying layers. LÄS MER
12. Narrow-pore zeolites and zeolite-like adsorbents for CO2 separation
Sammanfattning : A range of porous solid adsorbents were synthesised and their ability to separate and capture carbon dioxide (CO2) from gas mixtures was examined. CO2 separation from flue gas – a type of exhaust gas from fossil fuel combustion that consists of CO2 mixed with mainly nitrogen and biogas (consists of CO2 mixed with mainly methane) were explicitly considered. 13. Controlling the Pore Size and Morphology of Mesoporous Silica
Sammanfattning : Mesoporous silica with a hexagonally ordered pore structure (SBA-15) has been synthesized. Through variations in the synthesis conditions several morphologies, such as fibers, sheets and separate rods, have been realized. LÄS MER
14. Enzyme Immobilization in Mesoporous Silica
Sammanfattning : Catalysts are widely used in many industries for production of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fuels and energy. There is a need for more sustainable production processes, with reduced energy and raw material consumption together with a reduction in waste and toxic by-products. LÄS MER
15. Water and alkali salts in the hydrating and hardened green cement-based materials: Hydration process, moisture content and transport
Sammanfattning : Reducing CO2 emissions in the production of cementitious binder is the most effective way to decrease the environmental impact of the construction industry, so a large amount of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) has been used in the green concrete. Both the SCMs and alkali salts in binders influence the hydration process and the structure in hardened cement-based materials. LÄS MER
